Bevier Park Work Day (08/19/12)

We are going to meet on Sunday August 19th for a Bevier Park Work Day.
We are going to start at 8am and work for 2-3 hours or so.
After the work day we are going to randomly break into groups for a round of 18 and play for bag tags.
Please bring gloves, clippers, pruners, loppers, axe, chain saws,  weed eaters, etc...
Below is a list of some items we'll hopefully get to.


Update Bulletin Board

Pick up trash

Baskets
Orange tape
Orange flags
Paint rungs
Tighten next tees signs & twist tie them
Secure #11 into the ground.


Tee signs
Paint Rocks
Rewrite distances
Pound them in more (Anyone have a rubber mallet?)

Trim
#4--Couple of branches
Possible weed eating on greens of #6, 7, 8, 9, 10. & 11.
#9--Prune large plants blocking straight route.
#12--Massive clearing on right side. Open up left side.
#13--Take care of stump near tee--Clean up green area.
#14--Couple of branches
#15--Clearing large wood pile on right side.
#16--Clean up green area
#17--Trim bush by tee pad. Clean up green area.
#18--Clean up green area

Brush removal.
There are some large piles of brush that need to be removed.
#13 & #15


Lay down a couple of logs near the path to 17 to block where 4 wheelers are entering.
Stack brush pile near #16 tee to block the opening where 4 wheelers are entering.

Future Projects
Secure #11 into the ground.
Move short basket #18 across the creek.
Mark OB on holes 7, 16, 17, & 18.
Tree face on # 13 & 17.
Mark out driving distances of 300, 350, 400, 450 on #11
Small foot bride on #17

I will be out of town that weekend as well.  I am only back in town for 5 days then back to Minneapolis again.  Hopefully the next one. :(

Thanks to Brett for organizing the work day. Thanks to everyone who came out. The course looks great.  Discontinuum picked up the cost of new flags, tape, and paint.   With multiple people pitching in to help out, the work was knocked out pretty quickly.  A special thanks to John Cleaveland for making the drive up from the city to help out.

The world champs sign was also placed in the bulletin board on hole #1.
It is nice to be able to see the basket on hole #6, the flags are very helpful.
