Probably more parity at the elite level this year than in any other year.  One second Schusterick looks unbeatable, then McBeth goes on a tear, now Wysocki has 3 huge wins in a row following a 2nd place at Worlds.  Doss is still consistent but hasn't won anything significant this year, so he's off my list.  Nikko is up and down, so he's out too.  Here are some stats, highlighting results from the biggest tournaments of the year.  The Vibram and USDGC should be interesting.

Wysocki is on fire, but I'd still take McBeth or Schusterick at this moment.  Its hard to pick between those 2.  McBeth with 3 huge wins this year, so I guess I'd just barely give him the edge over Schusterick.

I like Will alot, but the best golfer right now as we speak in my opinion is McBeth. dude is just so freakin consistent. his rounds at Worlds really showed what he is capable of. I think his lowest rated round was like 1043

Here's another vote for McBeast!  Gotta give it to the World Champ at least for a little while.

Wysocki currently, 2nd at worlds then 3 wins in a row!

Thats a good argument.  He's throwing up some ridiculous rounds, including an 1100 at the BHO.  All 3 of those wins came with McBeth in the field, too.

I think Will lost the flame when he didn't meet his expectations at Worlds. Wysocki on the other hand totally got fired up. Honestly, RIGHT NOW I would say it's Wysocki. The kid just has such a killer relaxed putting stroke he just makes it look too easy.

CEValkyrie

If you are talking right now this week it's gotta be Wysocki. If you are talking about the season I'll take Schusterick. Every week he's been in the hunt to win with no real let down weeks. This past weekend 9th place has been his worst finish of the year. He's usually in the hunt.  Impressive!

I agree that Schusterick has definitely been the most consistant overall on the season.

Money aside, I'd take McBeth's season over Schusterick's so far.  Worlds, Memorial, and the Masters Cup?  3 monstrous wins against the best.  McBeth has pretty much been just as consistent, with the notable exception of his poor performance at Beaver State.  If Schusterick comes back and wins the Vibram or USDGC, that may change things.  Cale up to 1040 rating.  He is also having a monster year.

Right now it is Wysocki because he shot a 1098 Rated round today, that is a 3 stroke lead.

Yeah I change my vote.  Nobody else may ever win a tournament again.

He's killing it.

On a side note it's interesting that both Climo & Schultz are not playing.

Has Climo ever played the Vibram?  And has Barry played any other big events besides Worlds this year?

That's a good question Dan, I feel like he has not. He's definitely not shy about his dislike for wooded courses (Climo that is).

Checked his stats.  Climo has never played the Vibram sanctioned, and I'm pretty sure he never played Marshall Street when it was unsanctioned either.  Climo doesn't play alot of the NT events (wasn't at BHO a couple weeks ago either).

Barry won a couple years ago, but didn't play last year.  Barry has not played a single event outside North Carolina this year, so I'm definitely not surprised that he's not in Massachusets.

Looks like Dana is off to a strong start on the front 9 this afternoon.

Barry won in 2009 I think, but then couldn't play in 2010 because of an injury. Sometime around the time he moved to the Carolinas he mentioned that he was burnt out from touring and had no drive to compete at the higher level (which requires constant touring). It seems he's getting back into it now but he probably wants to take it easy this time and not spend all his time on the road.

Looks like Cale is going to have something to say about Wysocki's run at 4 in a row.

well, that was weird. The live scoring had Wysocki w/ a 3 and Cale w/ a 5, which would have given it to Wysocki, but the actual result was obviously different.
thanks,

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

Cale has stepped up his game this year. I still cannot believe he did not play the Majestic. You gotta figure he had a shot winning the event on his home courses.
