Here is the information for the website for the 2007 Am Worlds in Milwaukee.

Looking forward to that for sure.

As a web designer though I can't say that I like the website, especially the navigation.

There seems to be a theme among a lot of web designers that they want big picture, small area for content.  I don't get it either.  It was cool to see this information though, I doubt any of the new courses will be playable over winter just like Dreztka.  That's unfortunate.  I'll have to check them out as soon as I can next year though!

I am assuming that we are looking at a work in progress.  I did not see any titles for the buttons until you activated the button.  Most of the pages lacked any info because its still pretty early. The most important thing they had was the dates.  Of course, that info is already on the PDGA website.  I did note that the Amworlds website indicates that they plan to start on Sunday.  The PDGA site said it started on Monday the last time I looked.  I suspect that had something done and figured it was worthwhile to publish it rather than let it sit.  Of course, I am a glass half full guy.

They need to have the website active by a certain date as part of their agreements with the PDGA. Most Worlds TDs have chosen to get the site up before that date so that they can start plugging in information as it is available and then its also one thing they can check off as complete on their agreement check list.

Usually the first round of Worlds is on Monday with check-in and field games on Sunday.

Dineen Park is currently in the ground and is playable. They've already held an event there for the Great Lakes Disc Golf Club. If I'm not mistaken, the courses stay in through winter, however, get pulled in early spring as things start to "defrost." If you haven't heard anything about Dineen Park, it used to be an old par 3 "ball" golf course. If you need directions here is a link to the old golf course site.

Take a look at the PDGA Discussion board under the Great Lakes DGC section for information about the course: NEW COURSES IN WISCONSIN

Heard a rumor that Brown Deer is scheduled to go in on Nov. 11th...  same day as big paw.
Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

Just count on the host hotel filling up a week or two after the invites go out in March.

You might as well book it now if you plan to come up.  Like most reservation systems, your credit card will be used just to HOLD the reservation and you will not be charged until that week.

There are 2 options - a slightly cheaper (primary) host hotel that is a little closer to 3 of the four courses (for about $55 plus tax per night) or going south a few exits and getting a nicer exit with many more options for food and amenities such as a mall (for about $85 per night).  Both hotels are listed on the website.

414.535.1300 for the 55 dollar rooms - La Quinta
414.778.0333 for the 85 dollar rooms - Holiday Inn Express

BOTH WILL FILL so eventually we might have to get a third hotel involved!

On a side note - this is in fact a very busy WI weekend.
Tomorrow morning we need help putting Brown Deer in the ground - 36 anchors plus tees.
The Big Paw is taking place at Parkside in the afternoon.  (come to Brown Deer just for a short time to help if you can)
Also the annual Summit it taking place in Stevens Point.  Busy weekend!

Kelsey has a leadership training graduation ceremony that weekend so we are definately out.  That's four more spots for the rest of you.  She has been doing this thing that is a lot like Eagle Scouts but is with the Pioneer Girls and apparently its a bigger deal than Worlds.   :-\

Make sure your contact info is up to date with the PDGA (like if you've moved or changed e-mail addy since renewing your PDGA membership). They e-mail invite packets to everyone that has earned a spot. They snail mail everyone that they do not have an e-mail addy for.
