I like the idea of a glow round. That sounds fun!!!

Personally I don't like the idea about playing Bevier backwards. I've done it a few times & I for some reason I don't care for it. I also think this adds a lot more work of marking tees & measuring, #'ing holes, & getting score cards ready. Also, just think, @ the last 2 tournaments, 73 of 105 players have been Rec & Am. That's 70% of the field. Will these players enjoy Safari Holes that may be hard to find & rather difficult?

I would like to play 3 rounds of 12 to maybe 15 holes. The 3 alternates (ABC) aren't in yet, but they should be by the Widdershins. I'd like to play those for sure. If we start @ 3PM, that gives us almost 5 solid hours of daylight. Play the first 2 rounds from the alternates, then the glow round from the cements & short alternates. Just a thought.

I like the idea of the 2nd round. Easy enough to follow. No extra prep time required.

Who will be marking & measuring all those holes for the 2nd round? It took Mirth & I half an hour to measure & mark holes ABC @ the HPC Memorial. You are looking at 2+hours of marking & measuring holes.

Just trying to find ways to cut out preparation time.

I could care less on how hard the course is. All I hear is that people don't have a lot of time to donate. Just trying to keep the format simple & easy to plan. We should become efficient & better with our tournaments. That way we can play more, not plan & prepare. By the way Shawn, Widdershins needs a TD, you up for it?

Jim,

Are the entry fees on the DISContinuum website correct for the Widdershins Open? You posted different amounts on the PDGA Discussion Board?

The DISContinuum Website has had those fees on there since the Widdershins link was added. I posted on the PDGA Board & then you posted with different entry fees. You may want to change it. http://www.pdga.com/discus/messages/5547/9222.html?1052939671

Jim,

     That blows!

Find out what time the soccer games get done.

How about setting up old blast A under the power lines, then playing C, & walking around playing hole #9 or maybe the alternate from the soccer field to #9 if the soccer games are done.

Just some options.

Jim & I will be at Bevier tonight as well. I'll get out there around 2:30 but Jim won't be there until 4:30-5:00. I'm going to see if I can get the bridge started from C to #9.

I really think we are going to have a decent sized field for this event. I talked to a bunch of people at Bevier yestarday. They said they were coming.

Also, I preregistered by paypal. Am I the 1st?

Jim, Chud, & I cleared the path from C to #9. It is nice!! Adrian is going to cut the stumps with a chainsaw & finish up the bridge. We did get a very narrow bridge up & the creek is now passable but Adrian said he had some more wood to make it wider. C is going to be a great hole from all 3 positions when complete.

Mirth,

I get out of school @ 9:45 on Friday. Would you like to meet around 10:30 to do a few hours worth of work? Hole A, C, & 7 needs some weedwhacking. I can rake holes A & C again.

Club Members,

Remember, these tournaments are hosted for us. Please come out, have a good time, & play some good disc golf. Many of our members spend many hours a day preparing for club events. Thanks Jim & Shawn for running this tournament & spending so much time to get the Widdershins going. The new holes are coming along & will be playable on Saturday.

Thanks

Heard you guys stayed pretty late & were able to use the glow sticks. I wish I could have played. I am encouraged to see new people play & show interest in the club/disc golf. The course is looking great & the new holes are awesome. Can't wait until B is done. Thanks Adrian for all the hard work & Jim & Shawn for hosting another successful tournament.

Don't change the configeration of the widdershins to much to accomidate people who want to save time.  I personally loved playing the mandos that we played last year and the scores were not really that different from pro to am on the true par 5's.   I am truly disapointed that we are not doing the mandos this year.  Brett, if you go to any course that has plenty of ams playing, they usually play longs and suck and have a good time.  I am sick of people getting soft with players thinking that something might be to hard for them to play.....Do you really want to make people feel better about playing a simple layout and getting a good score?  Or have them talking about almost 4ing that awsome mando hole?

Be creative....please...think out of the box.  I will gladly help with getting lenghts or what ever.

Jim, give me a call if you need help

I sure hope when things change, they don't get sissyfied.

We could do pro tees...just kidding.  I just sent out e-mails to my family to get some set dates that I have free.  I have 3 or 4 free weekends this summer, would love to assist with this event or any other.

I'm looking for a cooler and ice for todays event, my girl took both of mine on her vacation.

Jim, I got the minis from Josh and some promotional stuff also.  Josh also donated 4 disc for CTP's....looks like 1 is a proto-valk.

I also have some used discs for Nick, he said that he has a demo/clinic in Deerfield(new course).  Anybody else that has extra used disc, please give them to Jim.

I have the laptop laying under some clothes.  There is no battery pack for it right now, but I do have a plug that I'll throw in with it so you can get MORE POWER!!!!  I'll put it in the trunk of the car tonight after a little cleanup.

Sounds awesome to me! Photon discs by Discraft would be the way to go. From what I hear they glow the brightest. And the longest.
