thanks for the link, I looked on PDGA.com and saw that he had 5 or 6 more hotels as well but not a lot of information about booking. so I was wondering if anyone had heard anything else.

Anyone seen any invitation packs yet?  It's mid March, I have my hotel reservations, and I'm getting antsy as hell.

I'm getting on the phone with David Gentry from the PDGA tomorrow.  We are ironing out just one or two last details and the invite packs should go out in the next few days.

Having your hotel reservations are certainly a good idea.  Look for your packet via e-mail by Tue or Wed at latest.  Contact me if you have any other questions (or post them here).

Ter

PS - Lots of hotel info and other info is on the www.2007amworlds.com website.  Check out the accommodations page for lots of that stuff.

Am Worlds Fun Facts (& some questions).  Anyone (i.e. Terry) please feel free to correct any mistakes or falsehoods:

Schedule
Sunday-All Day:  Field Events (all events $10 each) I think grouped by division
EDGE SkillShot Challenge (I don't know what this is)
Mini Golf (I don't know what this is - I'm an idiot)
    Putting Contest
    Long Drive Contest

Monday
  9:00 AM  Mixed & Jr. Doubles - which course(s)?
7:00 PM  Players Meeting - location TBD

Tuesday - Friday
Rounds 1 through 6, each participant plays one or two rounds per day

Tuesday Night - Fly Mart (Four Points Sheridan?)

Friday Night - Innova Party (Four Points Sheridan?)

Saturday
Morning - Semifinals at Dineen, Brown Deer, Dretzka-New
  Afternoon - Finals at Dretzka-Original

Tee Times:  Tue - Fri are 8:00 AM, 11:30 AM, & 3:00 PM
It's safe to assume these are shot-gun start (?)

Maximum capacity:  576
  Men & Grandmasters:   288
  Masters & Sr. Grandmasters:  144
  All Women:  72
  Juniors:  72
-Note:  2006 Worlds had 49 GM's, so the capacity for regular, ole Advanced should be around 240.

Men & Grandmasters are in four pools, Masters & Sr. Grandmasters are in two pools.  If you're in one of these divisions, you can request "any other players in your division with whom you wish to be pooled" for Tuesday & Wednesday.  After the first three rounds (Tue & Wed), players will be shuffled into new pools (by overall score?).
Interesting Statistic:  At the 2006 Worlds in Tulsa, you had to play rounds rated an average about 950 to make the top pool (top 72) in Advanced Men, same average rating to make the semifinals.

Courses
I thought that I heard that ALL courses would be pulled until May, and I'm not sure of the current status of each course.  The Greater Milwaukee Open B-Tier on May 26-27 (Memorial Day weekend) will feature all four courses, so they will probably all be in the ground from that point until the tournment (even the 9 temporary holes at Dretzka-New?).  However, Brown Deer will be closed for a PGA Tour event from July 11 - July 22.

Advanced Men will play Brown Deer & Dretzka-New twice each and Dineen & Dretzka-Original once each before the semifinals.

Invitees have exclusive access to registration until May 15th, after which any Amateur PDGA member can register (through the wait list?).  Final registration deadline is July 13th.

Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

Tyler:

The Skillshot thing is an overall skills competiton where you have to make mandatory throws, like backhand and forehand, and you are measured by accuracy.

Mini golf is disc golf with marker discs and mini baskets.

The pools for MM1 are E and F (F also has all of the Grandmasters).  Due to time constraints, I need to be in pool F.  does the pdga set up pools by alphatbetizing last names?  I'm at "W".  So, if that is the case I should make pool F.

Anyone know how they assign pools?

Bruce Brakel

You should call the PDGA and request to be put in F pool for transportation reasons.  They'll do that.  However, that only gets you in F pool for the first two days.  Then there will be a sort by score into upper and lower pools.  F pool is likely to be the lower pool after the sort.

Elliot Fu, if you are lurking, Diana is my partner and Kelsey is partnering with Dana.  So the sidebet is now entirely fair.  Kira is rated lower than Diana but she now beats her half the time.  You're rated lower than me but you beat me half the time.

My rating is lower than like 90% of the people playing.  My goal is a top 50% finish, but with how I've been putting lately, that may be a challenge.  Either way, I can't think of the last time I was think excited about doing something.  Regardless fo finish, it's gonna be a sweet week!!!

Any bets on the lowest placing club member? :-\

My goals are more modest-- avoid DFL.  I am the second lowest rated player in my division but am nearly 100 points above the next guy.  He better show up!  My real competition is the guy in the mirror.  I am going to look at it like a bike race.  I will just try to stay with the peleton.  If so, my rounds should rate pretty well.
