How are we going to define "lowest placing"?  Kira could come in second in her division and also come in third from last.  Maybe she has a near lock on lowest placing!

Rated rounds for an adult.  Kira places high in anybody's book regardless of the pool she is in!  Its best not to bet on kids.  She could win a trophy and still win "lowest placing" and that conundrum could be difficult for a youngster to handle no matter how precocious she is.  And, yes,I am ignoring the possibility that she will beat me outright which is certainly within the realm  of possibility this year and within the realm of probability next year. :D

This is my prediction:  Barrish does not finish lowest among club members.  Someone will DNF and finish lower because finishing always beats not finishing.

My goal is to make the Saturday cut (72 I believe). There are many club members that are well on their way to achieving that. Hopefully we can represent well!

Thanks.  If that doesn't give me confidence, nothing will . :-\

I'm hoping to make the semi-finals too.  I've been playing so crappy recently, we'll see.  Diana said last time I was losing weight i played poorly.  Probably messes with your timing and mechanics to lose 15 pounds off the mid section.  45 to go!   :o

On a positive note, I was feeling pretty good this morning, not nearly as achy as I normally would after a tournament, so I think I can go the distance.

Well at Worlds we also won't be playing 54 holes a day (plus warmups) so it won't be as tolling on the body.

I could have sworn that there were a couple of posts where Jon was betting that Am Worlds would not fill and someone else was betting it would.  I cannot find them now.

This just in:  Worlds did not fill.  From Dave Gentry as seen at PDGA.com:

This is the Brakel vs. Dana bet thread, I took him up on the $5 too, so that'll go to the Brakel fund if Dana actually pays up

it didnt fill exactly, however the major division (Advanced) did fill and I believe refunds had to be sent out.

only the smaller divisions like Juniors caused the event to not be at 100% capacity.  When we advised all the advanced players on this thread to register before it fills, we were correct in doing so.

Pools are posted on the PDGA tour page.  The bulk of Illinois players in Advanced Men are in pool C:
  Tue-8AM Brown Deer
  Wed-11:30AM Dretzka Original
  Wed-3PM Dretzka New

Aaron & I are in pool B with 61 guys from Wisconsin!

When/where is everyone planning their practice rounds?  Let's try to get together & play for tags.

Yep I'm in Pool C also. Looks like Brown Deer is my first stop on Monday. Not sure what time I will be up there though, hopefully around noon. I'm up for some tags. 269 806-4727 is my cell, hit me up anytime next week anyone!

Does anyone know off hand which course are being used for doubles?

I'm in C also, wouldn't mind playin with some fellow Illini in the land of cheese.  I don't know if playing Brown Deer @ 8 am on the first day of pool play will help or hurt. Maybe give us all a chance to make up for the over par we will suffer there.  When are some people getting up there to practice? I'll be up @ my friends house @ noon to set up camp, I can play before that and probably in the afternoon. 630-263-6496

I will be up there as of Saturday, so I am game to play anytime as I will have ditched the wife for the week by Sunday.

Tom McManus

Anyone have any luck printing up the new maps that Terry posted on a link  on the pdga message board?  I was unable to print them up.

Thanks.

Tom McManus

Did someone post a list of the club members that are playing?  It should be a great time, looking forward to seeing everyone up there during the week.

You might consider checking in at HQ first and confirming that the baskets at Brown Deer will be in by noon. I read on the pdga board that if the ball golf tournament has weather or playoff complications they might not be in until later on Monday.  :P
thanks,

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??
