I was stoked when I heard the Aaron Rodgers comment - until he allowed it to be called frolf and called it as just a hippie sport.  However, at least he throws backhand!  It would be really cool to play a round with the guy.  I wonder what it would take to run a charity disc golf event and get Aaron to show up at it... ;)  I'd have to go north of the border to host it for sure!

I saw Terry post something online that he's been trying to get something together like that. Would be pretty neat for sure.

I mentioned Favre only because Jon mentioned that he hasn't seen a tougher quarterback.  There is no way to compare injuries. I will mention that Cutler has played through two seasons without missing a game, while the rapist has only played one full season in the league up to this point in their careers.  Also, I don't think that there is a quarterback in the league who has his injuries more discussed in the media than the rapist.  Supposedly he is always hurt, is that being tough, or being prone to injuries?

Eight years in the NFL and the Rapist has only been able to make it through one season by playing all 16 games.  That doesn't seem particularly tough to me.  At least by NFL standards. He actually hurt his team by staying in the game last week. If his coaches had any sense they would have benched him.

pdga#7648

Like I said before the game. His pregame warmup told me he wasn't ready to play. If they needed to start him fine, but after his 2nd INT and knowing he was not able to scramble away from the defense, YES they should have pulled his ass.  But like the announcers said, he is BIG BEN, and he has proven time after time that he can play through injuries. But this was one he couldn't play through.  Just get him healthy for the playoffs that they are already in. we all know what he is capable of come playoff time!  ;D

That flip over the defender in getting into the endzone by  Jerome Simpson, of the Cincinnati Bengals was one of the most amazing plays I have ever seen an NFL player make. It was unreal.

that it was Tom. just unreal!  The commentators all gave him a 10, but said the German judge only saw it as a 9.5.  :o

that has got to be the #1 play on the NFL Networks top 5 plays of the week!

Kind of a stupid idea though too even though it looked cool. That goes slightly differently and he goes from a sportscenter top 10 TD to an it was good playing with you TD. Bummer about AP, hopefully he comes back 100% from that injury, such a fun (and sometimes hard) player to watch. Nice to see the Lions take care of business from start to finish as well. Kind of surprised to see Buffalo play like weeks 1-5 as well, will be interesting to see if Oakland or Denver gets the playoff spot.

Unfortunately the guy that did the flip is the same guy that tried his best to be an NBA player with this flop earlier in the season http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmT_28N4_Mo  it will be near the end of the video and draws a penalty flag.

Doug's prediction back on page 9 of this thread:

"The piss poor AFC WEST has to have a playoff team(remember the 7-9 Seahawks last year)  That will be the only AFC team that makes the playoffs at 9-7.    The NFC will most likely have 3 in at 9-7."

First of all, Doug thinks the Seahawks are in the AFC West, so he's got that going for him.  In the NFC, there will not be more than two 9-7 teams in the playoffs.  The Falcons are  9-6, but have clinched, so I'm not sure how hard they'll try to get win #10.

The AFC is likely to have two 9-7 teams in if Cincy loses to Baltimore, and if Oakland and Denver both lose there will be an 8-8 team in.  Got any more predictions?

Doug's other 2011 predictions:
Steelers were supposed to win the Super Bowl.
Anybody that thought Pujols would leave the Cardinals was an idiot.
Got any words of wisdom for 2012?

1st of all I was saying the AFC West might have a 9-7 team make it (referring to the Seahawks who made the playoffs last year, cause ALL divisions have to have 1 team in the playoffs) you goof ball. I know what teams are in each conference.

and Cincy will beat Baltimore, so only 1 team at 9-7 in AFC. Mark it down!  ;D  Pitt gets a bye!

Pittsburgh made it to the SB, but faced a better team. at least they were there.

my words of wisdom for 2012?  I actually think you should not make any predictions at all. I may be off on a few, but I know every year, your Chicago predictions always fall through. I know you predict with your heart, but cmon!

Dan - I think Atlanta will probably want a win on Sunday, but it will depend on the outcome of the Lions/Packers game. If the Lions win, Atlanta gets 6 seed no matter what. If the Lions lose and the Falcons win, then Atlanta would get the 5 seed. A first round matchup against Dallas or NYG is much more favorable than the Saints.

Now the question is what kind of Packers team is going to show up on Sunday. The way that the Lions played the Chargers it could be a shootout either way, but that is only one game of greatness which has not been the case all season.

I would expect the Packers to sit Rodgers for at least the 2nd half, although Matt Flynn has shown he is pretty functional.  I agree that the Lions and Falcons both probably want that 5 seed if possible.  As a Lions fan, what sounds more daunting right now, a game in the Superdome or a game in Lambeau?

I would think going to the Superdome might be tougher. I can see the Packers, 49ers, Lions, or Saints come out of the NFC.  Regarding predictions Dan has picked the Packers from Day one this year, so I would say his prediction skills have been pretty good.

I was discussing this last night actually and I think that the Lions match up better with the Packers than the Saints, regardless of the location. If the Lions got the 5 seed and won the first game and somehow Atlanta beat the Saints, I would be very excited for them to play the 49ers in the second round. I feel like they peaked around week 10 or so. Granted that's all pretty idealistic and not probably going to happen.
