A friend of mine has done some cyclocross. Its brutally hard. Its literally a cross between mountain and road bike racing where road racers stay in shape during the fall by riding bikes with wider tires and hammering through parks and forest preserves. Its not for the meek.

To indemnify the Forest Preserve District of Cook County from liability claims which may arise as a result of issuing a Special Activity "Event" Permit, the District has found it necessary to request a certificate of insurance verifying general liability coverage. General liability coverage must be in limits of not less that $1,000,000.00, for bodily injury and property damage. Also, the Forest Preserve District of Cook County must be named as "Additional Insured" on the certificate. All insurance certificates must be filed with the District as stated above. No exceptions!
As soon as the proper insurance coverage is received by this office, along with a completed Special Activity "Event" Permit Application and your full fee, the District will process your request. All requirements must be met 21 working days prior to your event (unless applying for a Nonprofit Reduced Rate).
