My favorite show on TV Spuds.  Season 3 starts this Sunday, so you better catch up quick.

Seven Psychopaths... a big thumbs up, although it might get shot off.

The gun violence is way over the top but it's part of what makes it funny, if that makes any sense. The script is good and the acting is great. (Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Tom Waits in particular.)

When I saw the trailers for this I figured it'd be either one of the best movies or one of the worst movies of the year. I wasn't disappointed.
thanks,
Damon

Haven't been to, or been watching many of the new films. I did see Looper, which was okay, but not outstanding. I did see Rampart with Woody Harrelsen on DVD again, nothing special.  If you are looking for a good Woody Harrelsen movie I would go with Zombieland.

Speaking of Zombies, Walking Dead has been outstanding this year. DO NOT watch this with the kids. Other TV shows that we have been watching: Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels, and Grimm.  Grimm is a good show, kind of silly but it is a good watch. AMC has the best lineup of shows on television.  We have also been watching Homeland with Claire Danes.  Another good show from Showtime.

All the shows listed above still do not reach the overall excellence of The Shield. It is on DVD, and it is the finest television series ever. Seems like television does a better job with story arcs that movies are not able to provide.

Agreed spuds, Hobbit was good.  I liked it better than the 3 Lord of the Rings movies.

Kids at grandparents house this weekend, so we watched a few movies this weekend.

Oblivion - story was just mediocre, action sequences were cool.  Overall a decent movie, nothing special.
Django Unchained - Great movie!
The Campaign - Will Ferrell and Galifinackis.  Very funny.  Worth watching.
Prometheus - The setup for the movie is very interesting, but then you're left with nothing but questions and zero answers.

On a sidenote, anybody not watching Game of Thrones is really missing out.  Best show on TV.
