The park is very well maintained. The tees are way to big. They used enough contrete to put tees on an 27 hole course. I played there a couple of weeks ago and met some dude named "FLASH" Pdga#21. He said the original Clark Park DGC was a Steady Ed design. Never knew that.

The original concrete tees had the tee sign in them in the back right corner. And those tees were very small. They were about the size of two standard side walk squares but not as long. It always felt like someone was standing on the tee right behind you while you drove. Like, "Excuse me but...oh, that's just a sign. Never mind." Better too big than too small!

My first round that I played when I moved to IL was with Flash - he's got some pretty cool stories!

Not to take anything from the story but a course "designed" by Steady Ed doesn't necessarily mean that Ed ever stepped foot in that park.

Thanks for the info..  I should be moving down there in a week or two..  Looking forward to playing the courses around the area..  still not sure if I want to live in Schaumburg or Elk Grove.  I guess I will have to see how bad it is to drive to Park Ridge from the Burg.
Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

Shawn - I work in Schaumburg. Maybe some lunchtime rounds will be in order?

Shawn, something to keep in mind when looking for a place in Elk Grove Village is air traffic patterns. It can get extremely loud in some areas. Also, if you are going to be commuting to Schaumburg and Park Ridge, being located close to an entrance/exit of 90 might be key to convenient commutes.

Steady Ed probably did design the course; he did a lot fo the early ones and came to town with his Winnebago back in 1980 when he did Shorewood and returned when we held the first tournament there.

That's cool. I know some courses he designed using layouts and/or over head pics provided by park districts.
