Hmm... token creek safari conflicting with Standing Rocks isn't quite as bad as the Parkside/Widdershins conflict. I want to play both, and since my twin is nowhere to be found I don't think thats possible. Since Parkside's event is a WI Tour stop & is a sanctioned event, I'd say move ours to the weekend after to enable publicity of our event at Parkside & allow people to play both.

I agree with Bruce about not changing the Safari schedule. It's been publicized, and the schedule will be available for people to take at the Ice Bowl at Dretzka this weekend. Granted, the Widdershins will be on the that same schedule handed out, however moving the tournament would be far easier than moving around the safari dates.

I say move the Widdershins, leave everything else intact.

After all, the safari is best of 7.

Jim - when do you think you will know for sure when that fishing thing is that you believe is the weekend after the current date for the Widdershins?

If the course is closed to us for events (obviously still open to the public... what are they gonna do, put soccer players on all the holes?!) on that day it will put a crimp in our fledgling plans to move the 'shins to the weekend after the UWP event.

The Parkside event in question isn't part of the Safari series, rather it's a PDGA sanctioned tournament.

I intend to, however I don't have any results to post.

Jim - did you ever call Trigg about the fishing thing in June?

If anyone could provide a little help on last names for people who played lower I'd appreciate it!

You didn't know that Channahon is going to be a 'classic safari' course? :p

actually, I'm just messing with you. I have no idea why 5 people have volunteered to provide maybe one basket...

Can I get bumped down for sucking?

It was decided at the meeting yesterday that the May Safari will remain as scheduled due to recent communications that Jojo has had with Larry Ast.

Token Creek is scheduled to be put back in the ground around May 1st, and he will call Larry again in the near future to see if that is still the target.

If, within a week of the safari it looks like the pins will not be in, then a last minute rescheduling will take place and every effort will be taken to ensure that all are notified.

Yeah, the Safari was high up on the agenda and I think it was covered before you arrived.

There still is a chance that it will be switched with Streamwood, but thats really dependant on Jojo's next conversation with Larry.

Heh... little SNAFU for ya. My business trip out of town that was supposed to put me in the Dells the week before the Safari has been bumped back a week.

Unfortunately I won't have a chance to play the course before the day of.

Guess this means that you have to call Larry, Joe. Guessing by how dry its been I'm assuming that the course will be in if it isn't already.

I know that for sure myself (wife willing, will know in a day or two) and Myk, probably Jojo also, were going to play. I think Jojo's gonna give Larry a call in a day or so to find out what the plan for the baskets are.

I am against modifying the schedule, this is what got the safari all f00ked up last year.

After all, it's best 7 of 12 so its your bad if you have something else planned that day. Perhaps whomever does the schedule for next year's safari should think about putting Token a little later in the year...

mirth

Yeah, I think the only reason why the schedule should be changed (and this applies to any date, not just Madison) is if the course is not in the ground or similar circumstances.

Hey yo, Dr Dye - When are you going to call Larry?

I'll help out with the phone tree if it comes to that.

I will be responsible for getting the prizes, etc from Jim for Saturday as I will be there for sure.

My baby was hatched, however his surrogate mother has decreed that I not think of DG on Sunday. (okay, that's a little far fetched... Of course I'm gonna think about disc golf! :D )

Curious about teeing this Saturday. Token has two sets of concrete tees for each hole, however previous safaris where there are two tees for the holes both divisions played the same tees....

Am I safe in assuming that the same will hold true for Token?
