Its just points. 7 events is the most you can accrue points for, ie best of 7, but its not a requirement.
72 PDGA TD reports completed and submitted.

PDGA IR Stats!

You know, funny you should mention that... I think many people forgot that 7 is the highest number of events you accrue points against, not that the 7 are manditory.

Obviously, its in your best interest to attend as many as possible just so you can drop low finishes....

Thing is there is really no reason for anyone to play in a Safari unless they can make 7 or more events.  My opinion...make each one worth while to make and just give the winner of the most events a cheap piece of paper and a frame stating that they are the safari champion.  No ending prize....just good payouts for the day the event was ran.

Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

I don't think the Safari Series is going to happen next year. We won't have to worry about it.

"The use of drugs is a perverse expression of individualism, antisocial and life-denying,It isn't an assertion of individuality; it's a substitute for it. It's not an attempt to be different when everyone else is becoming more alike; it's a way of copping out. And that's the worst thing you can do."

it's been fun while it lasted... if it did happen again it should incorporate monthly payouts as well as an overall prize, but we've been through all this already...

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

I'd say be on the look out for a reincarnation of the Safari in 2005, but with some changes.

It's become unlikely that I'll make it out this Sat, I picked up an early evening gig downtown. Can I get the SkillShot Sunday at Leagues?

Cold and dry.  High around 27.

Enough to buy my Skill Shot if you get the ace.

Thanks Brett, I’ll pick it up Sunday.

Jim, are you going to be there? I can pick up that Roc we talked about awhile back.

I can’t stay for the meeting because of a family commitment, and in fact won’t be playing Leagues on Sunday, maybe will putt for awhile at Bevier if the weather’s not too nasty.

The xrays on my shoulder were ‘negative’ as far as real damage, but there’s definitely a rotator cuff thing going on, and though my backhand doesn’t hurt it probably aggravates the situation, and since I’ve been tentative with it from ‘fear of pain’ and my forehand -maybe about 30% of what little game I have – is nonexistent at the moment, I’m going to do the therapy exercises hardcore and completely lay off driving (not my car, although shifting into reverse hurts too) for at least a month.

I’ve got a ‘big’ concert on Jan 11th so there’s lots of more relevant distractions along with the holidays, but I’ll miss the game. If there’s not any improvement by then I’ll either get a cortisone shot or find a doctor who’ll give me one. Fortunately most strokes/positions in drumming aren’t a problem.

I try to avoid playing the ‘age card’ (I still feel mentally like I’m 25, but I’ll gladly play GM at Am Worlds next summer if my points hold up) and I’ve had a weird shoulder for as long as I can remember (I think this thing was aggravated more from throwing pop-ups to my son more than any DG stuff), but just some advice to everybody, regardless of how young & frisky you might feel today – stretch those things – arms, shoulders, back, knees, even your arches - don’t take yer body for granted. Seriously – you’ll regret it eventually if you don’t!
thanks,
Damon

Rest that body Damon. Things will work out & you'll be back at it soon. Thanks for all the support & fun rounds. It's great to hear the tests are negative. Hurry back!
