IOS #5 - The Streamwood Sturgeon

Was able to get out to Streamwood last night for a couple of rounds before the big storms came in. The course was very green and pretty dry. I wonder if that's the same after the rain last night.

I marked off the temp holes. Attached is a list of holes, distances, & ob's.

It will be good by next weekend.  Lots of sunny weather in the forecast this week.

I'm doing trophy discs now.  They are a mix of ESP Surges, Buzzz GTs and Z-XLs.  If you play in a small division that has no pre-registered players and you want a dyed disc trophy, pre-register sometime this weekend.  Tried to do Advanced and Pros on the Surges and lower divisions on the zero stable plastic. 

The Am Master trophy looks like crap.  All you good Am Masters might want to play Pro Master or something.

Went out last night for a quick round. There was some standing water on some of the fairways, but nothing extreme. I liked the new position for hole 12C. Hole 13 is becoming a jungle. Soon there will be no walking path to the basket. Man does this place need some new baskets and cement tees!

Glad you were able to see the alternates. These will be the weakest temp holes i set up of all 7 IOS events. There just isn't much out there to work with. 12C is probably the best of the 4. 12A will have that OB to the left so it won't be a gimme. I went OB on it both rounds last year .

Hopefully we don't get any big rains prior to the tourney.

With 100+ players each day parking will be limited.

There is a public works building just north of the park on Bartlett.
If you go east on Oltendorf Rd & follow it around to the back side of the park there is a grade school to park at as well.
**disclaimer--I am not sure if it's ok to park at these places on the weekend. please look for signs so you don't get ticketed**

Saturday I'd check out the Lutheran church across the street, if the lot fills up.  You could park at the school on the back side of the course and walk in.

I have a co-worker who lives close to the park who states it is NOT illegal to park in the school parking lot on the weekends. She also states parking on the street is also OK.

Brett, I have a Mach V that I can lend for the alternate holes. I live 1 1/2 miles away, so it would be easy to bring over. Let me know if it is needed.

Names on PDGA will not be updated until I get back Tuesday night. I'd suggest preregistering. Tons of people at Milwaukee say they plan to play.

I'll probably pre-register my brother and myself in a day or two.  We played it for the first time all the way through for the first time tonight.  He was +8 and I was +12.  My word was hole #13 bizarre.  I don't think I've ever seen so much green stuff in the way (other than grass) on a 200' hole lol.

Thankfully anything thrown into the cattails was found, and we didn't lose anything out of our 5-person group!

Still not 100% sure if we'll play or not, but more than likely we will.

How many holes were there for last year's trip to Streamwood?  I can't really tell from pdga.com and I didn't see it listed in last year's IOS thread.

Just trying to see how scores were last year compared to what my brother and I threw last night.  I figure there were at least 20 baskets for last year's.

According to PDGA.com it was 20 on pro/adv day and 18 on int/rec day.  If you go into the tournament results and click on Course Statistics it is in there.

AHA!  That's what I was doing wrong.  I went to the results page, but didn't scroll up enough.  I thought I had seen a page like this before on pdga.com.  Thanks for the info Bruce!

2 Rounds. We'll play the first round and take an hour break then play the second round.

Weather looks great this weekend!  Trophies are done for pre-registered divisions.  I saw Barrett pre-registered in the store and know of a couple of TO pro women who are playing so their trophy is done.  I don't see any Pro Masters pre-registered.  If any show up, we'll have a wood mini-marker trophy for them like we do for Junior Girls and other divisions that don't pre-register.
