Everyone over the age of 6 must play PRO or Jay will kick your butt.

jim

Jay, can you please add Barry Gilbert to the Men's Open division? He paid cash. THANKS!

jim

I have secured a photographer for the Blast. John Bates (not Kirsten's uncle who made the CDs) will be doing it for a small fee (perhaps paid in plastic). We pay for film and developing.  We are setting this up as a professional deal. Myk, read your pm please.

jim

Cool!

Thanks, Brett!  That's the first I heard of it. PDGA did not contact me.

Mirth/Jay, can you please webify the status?

THANKS!

jim

WPD has officially nixed the moving of Basket #9.  Why? Because their map/legend at Tee #1 would then be wrong.  They see that as a priority over safety (not usual for WPD).

I will work on it more, with help from other members.

In the meantime, for the Blast, we will rope off an area between Basket #9 and the soccer field, just in case casual soccer players gather there.  But I am expecting no conflicts.

jim

As TDs, the charming and personable Messers Klem and Deardorf shall take care of all things disgruntling. We shall have a letter (oooh, a missive) from the right honorable deity, the "Trigg" which shall wipe away all soccer conflicts.

BTW, who speaks Spanish.....?????

Yes, a temp will be on hand just in case. Should be fine.

jim

All players ARE welcome to try and play above their rated division.  :)

I understand that Alex Bingman probably will NOT be playing the Blast, so that might open up the Pro division a little......

Brett, thanks for the tape and paint. EXCELLENT!  The yellow marker rope for Basket 9 area are appreciated.

Also, I cannot find the document with the re-measured distances for all the holes.  Can you please get me your recent results? Sorry. I'm a big dork.  Also need the distances for ABC.  THANKS! Please email them to me ASAP.

We will also need help from at least one person immediately after or during the awards/prizes presentation. Myk and I will be busy totalling scores and presenting awards. We need someone to set up temporary tees for the Ace Race. THANKS!

jim

I'd like a minimum of three players in any division, even womens divisions.  It sucks that there still aren't many female players, especially locally.

But I am not comfortable having a 2-woman division because the payouts will be so low that, to me, is demeaning.

Having a 1-player division is just plain silly.

So, if say Barrett White and Becky show up, I will ask Barrett to play with the Pro men and Becky to play with the Am or Adv men, whichever she wants.  In this case, I would want to make sure they did receive prizes for being brave souls.

I will have to re-check the PDGA's rules and advisings about this.

Also asked BC for his input.

Cannot check the PDGA website because its been down for 2 days now, so I will check the literature when I get home.

jim

PDGA.com was acting weird around noon; pdga mess board was down for over an hour.

As for opening up an Am Womans division, your soapbox jibberish makes sense, especially after relating Becky's story in the IO. I did not know she was a division.

Question/Scenario:

Say we do open up an Am Womens div, and only Becky shows up.

Then SallyJo shows up and asks us to open up a Pro Womens div. Do we?

What if BobbiSue then shows up and wants a Womens Rec div opened up.

Do we accommodate all as requested?  I understand that their entry fees would be their payout base, so we wouldn't lose any money, but is that SOP for sanctioned-events?

Just wondering.

My goal (all of ours, I'm sure) to to accommodate all players and to attract more women players. Will doing this have any adverse effect?

jim

It was supposed to be funny.....

:)

I will email BW and see if she's planning on coming. Heck, I'll email Juliana and Des for that matter.

Will Becky and /or other Brakel women be attending?

jim

The layout is smoother.

The flow will be smoother.

Jim,

On the PDGA thread, you posted under PDGA Issues. You may want to change it to the 2003 Tournament Thread.
