The BLAST is not yet sanctioned; PDGA approval pending

Since the PDGA office is closed til Aug 21st, I'm guessing this won't get confirmed until at least then...?

Predictions on scores.

Well, I went back & checked out the scores from the HPC Memorial. Pretty much the same format. 3 Rounds of 12 Holes. I can't remember what alternates we played.

Pro 94 (-14)

Adv 101 (-7)

Am 109 (+1)

Here is what i'm predicting for the Blast

Pro 95 (-13)

Advanced (-8)

Am (-3)

....hmph. This from an 'advanced' player who shot 97 yesterday. ;p  Brett, you gonna turn pro for this one?

I'll say -15, -10, -5. Unless the weather's lousy.

I'd venture that on the whole the new holes ABC will prove slightly tougher than the ballfield alternates used for HPC. You'll see a fair # of deuces on Hole A and the shortest Hole B, several from middle B and maybe all placements of C, but it'll be interesting to see if even the pros can make long B in two throws.

there's also a mistake on the tournament pre-registered page. I'm playing intermediate, not advanced.

Sounds like it'll be a blast at bevier.. a BEVIER BLAST!!

Okay I'm done.

Premium prizes include discs, minis, stuff like that I'm assuming?

Sounds cool, can't wait!

D

This sounds like more and more fun everyday, can't wait!

How is the competition looking for 17&Under? Can't decide to shoot there or int am. Will you guys be making a chart for payouts?

Can't wait to pre-register!!

QuoteMyndCraft (08-15-2003 11:05 p.m.):

Don't bag your a am player not a junior. You may not win, whereas you would in junior, but you will get better, by being forced to make better shots, and by watching players around you that are better, and learning from the mistakes of the worse players.

Heres a fyi btw, Steve Rico won his first pro even at the age of 16, Garret Gurthie, a Gateway sponsored player, is 14 and plays pro.

I know, which is why there is a dilemma as to which to shoot. If I shoot am, your right, I probably won't win. But If I was to signup for the PDGA I would be 17] aka, Junior..

Also, I'm no Steve Rico :P

D

whatever, who cares. It sounds like alot of fun and I can't wait to play

D

I turn 17 October 26th, so technically I'm still a "junior". It's stupid to argue. I'll probably lose reguardless of what divison I shoot in considering the way I've been tossin' lately.. :(

Myk, I like how you think :)

D

This just hit me, do you guys think it may be necessary to do a two-day event?

D

I was unaware the field was limited to 60 players, I was just making a suggestion out of ignorance..

lol.. duck or bleed Bruce

In the meantime, for the Blast, we will rope off an area between Basket #9 and the soccer field, just in case casual soccer players gather there. But I am expecting no conflicts.

jim that makes me laugh

my 2 cents hedge your bets  bring temp basket just in case

hand out/post flyers week in advance

that park will be used by disc golfers

i remember a streamwood  t  that we had to skip two holes

because of the pick up soccer league with 100 people milling around

two duecable holes   14 15  LOL

communication is key  maybe soccer dude will think

maybe this is a day that i leave the family at home the park is

going to be crowded  no parking and the such

couldn't until you fixed it. THANKS!
Now I can't find the thread, so please pardon my thread combinations.

For Blast registration, please add:
Sean Gilbert, Intermediate Amateur, paid cash, no pdga, no acerace.

Talked to Mike Trigg today. He likes the bridges. he likes Hole B.  He's letting us use the big tent as well as the picnic pavilions. woo-hoo.

I received the discs/prizes from Sun King yesterday.  One or two minor issues, but no biggies. Many of the prize discs are AWESOME!!!  I mean truly AWESOME!!!  The regular raffle will have no fewer than 11 winners!!!

We will also be vending for Sun King. Many of the discs for sale are at good prices, some very good.  We'll also be selling some Innova DX plastic (Aviar X-outs, some Leopards, some Rocs)  for $5 each.

Much more to say, but y'all will have to wait for the players' meeting!

Are you reserving spots for folks who say they are coming but didn't get in on Pay Pal, like at the Illinois Open?
