What type of course? Nothing over 400...any long tee's?
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

Nothing super long. It is a pretty fun course. No elevation but there is some water. Last year there was a fun alternate that swallowed quite a few discs.  Not too far from Dekalb.

the alternate will be in play again this year, hopefully good weather again, i willl be there early helping out... i can answer most questions... yes the course is pretty short, Dana should shoot 10 to 13 down

Broken ankle?  I didn't see a limp.  Didn't get to play with him but I hear he's an awesome putter.  Now he just needs to register for the PDGA so he can stop paying the 10$ fee every time.

Fun course, could definately use a re-design with two sets of tee's.

Yea he broke his ankle a month or so ago he was telling me at Lombard. He was definitely limping around a lot there, but maybe it's better now. He had just taken the cast off the day before the Lombard event.

Congrats to Spaz Kutella (913 rating) for his 9 throw win in the Novice division (cutoff less than 850 rating)   ::)

he did help out alot at the tourney though so I guess that makes playing the wrong division acceptable   ;)

What is up with that? To make it worse. The only other PDGA member in the novice division was not so recently complaining about baggers on the PDGA site. If I were him, I would file a formal complaint with the PDGA.

To be fair, perhaps he just didn't know. I know that when I first joined the PDGA I was unaware of the division breakdowns.

Believe me, he knows. The TD should have known too.  :P
thanks,

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

Paul's post above is incorrect according to the results.  Michler won INT, congrats Dan :)

I'll ask because I don't know.  If you click on his name, his profile says "Michael Kutella's PDGA membership is not current."  So even if you looked him up before the event you would not be able to see his rating.  However, once you have played your last rating pops up next to your name no matter if you are current or not.  So since he appears to not be current, would the TD have been able to access anything to find out his old rating?

can't putt

Can't speak to what the TD did or did not know, but Kutella has played in many PDGA events since at least 2001, often in Intermediate (old system, obviously).  If I was the second place guy, I'd be pissed.

Looks like Spaz hasn't played an official round for almost two years.  Given that layoff, I can almost see him playing rec despite his rating, but Novice is over the line.

The average rating of the winner of the Novice division in local tournaments (except sand-filled IOS #2) is about 885-890.  Spaz shot an unoffical 905.

slight thread drift but i just saw Mike Robinson won advanced at the KC OPEN. How is he able to play advanced when he has played pro and acccepted cash for a couple of years now?

practice is over rated, grip it and rip it

He's rated lower than 970 (or 975, can't remember the cutoff)

so are you saying you can accept cash as a pro and go down to adv any time you want as long as your rating is below 970?

Correct, except a pro under 970 is not going "down" to play advanced.  And you can take cash as a pro and play intermediate if you are below 935, and play Rec if you are below 900 and play novice if you are below 850.  Advanced is a division for amateurs of any rating and pros rated below 970.  Pros cannot play in amateur divisions at majors.  Majors are Worlds, Nationals, and two or three international competitions held overseas.
