Could it be true that Vernon Hills could develop the next 18 Hole course in Lake County. They could put together something special. They have the Green. Corporate Money and sponsorship IE Rustoleom.



They have the space.



Do they have the vision.

Ive seen prototypes that look tasty.



What do you think ?

But that 116-ft hole stands out as strange.

Maybe I'm slow, but lemme see if I understand this.

Someone in Vernon Hills wants to know if another person, also living in VH, is interested in Central IL disc golf?

I don't think we have any VH members.

and Central IL is a pretty large area.

I just spoke with both the VH Park District and the VH Village Hall.  Both places deny that there is ANY activity or planning for a disc golf course. I also tried to find Big Bear Lake (from Brett's post), and could not find it in Vernon Hills (looked at mapquest and VHPD's park map).

Where is all this (mis)info coming from?

The ONLY reference I can find for big bear lake was on discgolf.com - people - illinois - Allan Friello

Allan contacted me a few months ago about this project but then heard nothing.  Here's the webpage he has linked to his personal info:

I think a 18 hole course is in the works. Big Bear Lake is the location. I think it will be a small course with nothing over 300ft. All 200 to 250.

1st, Welcome to the board! Thanks for sharing your info.



I'm just curious to where you are getting your information. I talked to a pretty solid source today & he said this course was not even close to going into the ground. The guy in charge is really worried about that park & how much people use the park. He's worried about people getting hit. They are supposedly looking for accomodating location.

Now get them to put in flared cement tees(pro and intermediate positions) and mach V baskets(solar domes optional) :D

This is one of two different sites being "Tossed Around"



I have played this course on a 6 Month old prototype.

New model is longer.

Previous course design was great this has to be much better.

This is a Map of Prototype 18 Course in Vernon Hills Illinois.
I put it together Disc Golfers can go play it.  Unfortunately at this time most targets have been taken down. Playability is great since all park patrons stay on paths. I will post an aerial view and a couple of holes if you would like to see more let me know...this is only a proto...but it is in my opinion the best challenge in Illinois.
