Wow. It is going to be some time to raise that kind of cash.

I wonder what kind of basket he is talking about (higher quality than Washington?), DGA, Chainstar?  I like the Innova Baskets at Washington.

Sounds like it will be a sweet disc golf course, whenever it opens (2015ish I'm guessing).
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

I was just thinking the same thing and taking it off the 2011 list. If they ran some sanctioned event at each course down there and added a 50/50 at each event I could see them raising enough money.

Quote from: CEValkyrie on May 31, 2011, 01:58:12 PMI also found out about . . . a Midwest Disc Golf designed 18 in Geneva.

I spoke with Mike at the Geneva Park District last week.  They're hoping for installation by Independence Day, limestone teepads.  The tees and pins are marked with paint, and some of them have flags.  I found each tee and all baskets except #8 & #18.  The design stays away from park areas with other uses (baseball, lacrosse, miniature golf, playgrounds, pavillions), as well as the parking lot, and any potential conflicts with the walking paths are minimal.

In general, the design is good for the limited space, same feel as Jericho without the water, or a shorter Lombard-MM.  There's some slight elevation changes, a few tunnel shots.  Some of the flight lines are pretty tight for now, they'll have to do some clearing out of bushes on #4 & #13, and #10 & #11 in the woods will need fairways established.  Each hole should be 2-able, with only a few holes over 300 ft.

I also found out about a 9 holer in Mahomet and a Midwest Disc Golf designed 18 in Geneva.

Do you have any more information on  this?

A friend of mine that lives in Mahomet said that his subdivision was building a small course, but he didn't have any more information about it, and wasn't sure if it was going to be private or public.  He didn't even know where exactly it would be.

C-U seriously needs more course options.  I'm tired of driving to Bloomington to play.  Lohmann is fine, but playing a single 9-hole over and over really gets boring.

Cement tees are in at Pontiac!

Tee signs are in the works.  Should be pretty easy to follow.

Okay, I am back.
Kuddos to all involved in getting Baker Park in Kewanee in the shape it is in now. The course is Amazing.  Still a few tweaks needed here and there, but nothing that drastic. This takes a very good mental game as well as being able to hit your lines. Do not go off the fairway!! It is for sure, just pitching out and taking your medicine if you do, alot like McNaughton.
I recommend you Chicagoland guys making the drive down to play this course. you will not be disappointed. Just don't like/dislike by your score. The Pro/Adv scores ranged from 51-64 in round #1 in a tourny there yesterday. 49-68 in round #2

Very challenging, tight wooded holes. Demanding placements on the longer holes. alot of road OB's to deal with.
Now I would rate this course an 8/10.  The hour drive may become routine? well worth it!

Crap. I forgot about Decatur too. 18

Nelson Park in Decatur is holding a C-tier on Saturday, Oct. 29th, same weekend as the Joliet Championship.  Looks like the new course has three holes 400+ & one 500+.  "On an old ball golf course. Beautiful rolling hills with a view of Lake Decatur from #18. Some tight fairways. and some open ones. A good work out with all the elevation. Wind can come into play."

Does anyone know when the Wildlife State Prairie Park down in Peoria opens?

These folks were at the Camden Triples event yesterday and announced a fundraiser doubles tourney this coming weekend.

Copied from the PFC boards:

Bring your own partner doubles event to raise money for baskets @ Peoria's newest championship course

$15/person :$10 goes to baskets, $5 to payout
1 round of 18 holes
Divisions: Gold or White
(division will play tees of same color)
Mulligans $2 each or $5/3
$5 50/50 ctp hole
$2 ace pot (ctp throw off for 1/2 the pot if an ace is not hit)

We are closing in on having enough to order at least the front 9 by spring. Please come out and help put this beautiful course in the ground.

Sunday, November 13 ยท 1:00pm

Location: Wildlife Prairie State Park
course is across street from main park entrance
Hanna City, IL

There was some talk earlier this year of NIU in DeKalb installing an 18 hole course on campus behind the residency towers (here). Been a while since we've heard anything new though.

Dag- Anything happening with this course? Does NIU have a disc golf club?
