Crap. I forgot about Decatur too. 18

Nelson Park in Decatur is holding a C-tier on Saturday, Oct. 29th, same weekend as the Joliet Championship.  Looks like the new course has three holes 400+ & one 500+.  "On an old ball golf course. Beautiful rolling hills with a view of Lake Decatur from #18. Some tight fairways. and some open ones. A good work out with all the elevation. Wind can come into play."

fun course for sure. I played in the tournament in October.  lots of rolling hills.  a few holes are the exact same shot. #1 and #4 are 420' anhyzer shots. looks like the exact same hole.  #2 is a very tuff hole for a righty, unless he/she can flick!  come down and play it, you wont be disappointed.

There is a new 9-hole course at Rockford College in Rockford. It's supossed to expanded to 18 holes in the spring. It has small cement tee-pads and nice baskets. It's on the DGCR and PDGA websites.

There was some talk earlier this year of NIU in DeKalb installing an 18 hole course on campus behind the residency towers (here). Been a while since we've heard anything new though.

Dag- Anything happening with this course? Does NIU have a disc golf club?

Nothing that I've heard of. Last winter someone from the Office of Campus Recreation was talking with Duain Altepeter, de facto head of DeKalb County Disc Golf, even to the point of doing a walkthrough on the property. Last I spoke with Duain on the subject he said that OCR hadn't contacted him further so I'm assuming dead item.

No NIU disc golf club that I'm aware of though we have hordes of casuals at the one nine hole in town. Our local group is an offshoot of what used to be an NIU club if I recall correctly.

Reminds me...

Woodstock approved a nine hole at Raintree Park. Jeff Kaufmann as been heading this one up.

Pulled from the Marengo Disc Golf Facebook page:

QuoteA little excitement here in Woodstock tonight. I've been talking with Public Works since January, and tonight the Woodstock City Council approved my plans to raise funds and install a 9 hole course at the 25 acre Raintree Park in the heart of Woodstock. Plans for the course include two pin placements per hole, white and red tee pads, 4 wooded holes, and two others with slight elevation changes.
