So when you've got a huge group of spoiled little Libertyville punks throwing into you at Adler, what do you do?  I know the same thing happens all the time at Fairfield due to the congestion at these courses.  Last night there was some major arguments and almost a fight cuz of a couple groups of these kids who actually did hit a guy.  still they keep throwing into you on every hole.  i am sick of this and have no clue how to better handle educating them on not throwing until we are done with the hole, other than just yelling at them in a threatening manner.

It really sucks. We were on Hole 4. Our group told the group behind us that we'd let them play thru but there was at least a 4'some on every hole. While we were putting Nasty Nate got hit right in the hip. He handled it pretty well. He yelled at them but did not throw their disc or swear at them. They said nothing as the disc was in flight. On the next hole they were yelling fore while we were putting. What a bunch of smart asses. That almost set things off.  At one point i counted 11 groups on the course. Several of those with 5 or more players. This is why I don't enjoy playing Adler much. If you go back in the old messages of Adler Park you can see some negative posts when I first started playing. These same idiots are the one's I formed my opinions.

after we had the major confrontation that almost resulted in some blows being thrown, we had to deal with them throwing at us while we were putting on every hole from 1-5.  unbelievable.  it wasn't that they didn't understand either.  they just thought it was pretty funny.

Tough situation. I'd hate to escalate it to a physical situation. I would be more likely to do something passive agressive if something came to mind at the time.

I had a simular situation happen once. After warning the kids that they should wait until I was done with the hole or at least out of their range on a long hole. After that I told the kids throwing at me that if they threw a disc anywhere near me again I was going to keep it.  That ended it.

Thats a good idea... but because I'm more off a loose cannon I would beat the *beep* out of one of them.

This happened at Crystal Lake a few times last year and at Parkside this year.  I warn the group that I will either keep the disc, throw it back at them, or taco the disc.  I rifled one over the head of a kid last year and they made sure give us room.  Butler taco'd a disc once and that almost lead to a fight.

I would think that if you give them a warning and tell them what will happen you have all the right to act upon those words.

Stuff like this in ball golf is why Jon's father quit playing municipal courses as soon as he could afford to play the privately owned open to the public courses.

The solution is already there:  pay the $10 to play Edgebrook.  When Edgebrook is successful you'll see another one pop up nearer to you.  I did not see one instance of disrespectful play when we were at Edgebrook.  I did not see one shard of glass anywhere on the course.

So long as you are taking it for free, you'll get what you pay for, and it is only going to get worse as the weather gets better.

By the way, it happened repeatedly at the last unsanctioned tournament I played.  After warning the group behind us several times, we finally just buried the disc in leaves.  The burying was a group thing.  We all participated so that if there was any penalty imposed it would apply to the whole Am Master division!

Lately I've had little tolerance for this, maybe I'm getting impatient in my old age and am sick of bs

If someone throws on me, I drop my stuff, keep a disc in my hand, walk halfway down the fairway and tell them we're still putting, etc..

They do it again, I thrwo more on the next hole and wait for them to get to the tee and explain to them how the game works, and that they're ignorant

And it hasn't gotten to anywhere past there, but if it does... maybe I'll let them play through and throw on them?? No idea.. Haven't thought that deep into it

Ever seen a martial arts movie?  Get those special minis with the razer edges.  Yes Grasshopper, they will learn soon. Don't bother the master while he is putting. :P

QuoteGet those special minis with the razer edges.
Oh yes, I remember those. I left a number of holes in our old shed with those.
