The pic:

Jon is King Arthur, lain out on a funeral pyre, getting ready to be sent off to Valhalla.  The crying eye represents the world, saddened by the loss of its great leader.

Or

Jon is just a freak......

Hey, who else besides me is getting excited about this Ice Bowl?  Also who is planning on playing Uncle Joe's (Dretzka) Ice Bowl in January?

jim

Jon, did you receive the logo(s)?  Have you snagged the actual IceBowl logo or sent in the registration yet?  When can we expect a flyer? I WANNA PLAY!!!!

jim

Aw, Jon!  I hope you feel better soon! No big rush, you know, we do have time. Regarding the fieldhouse at Bevier, yes, we are still waiting for an answer on that and a few other things. I emailed Mike yesterday and will follow up with a call later today or tomorrow.  THANKS!

jim

I will email the 200 folks on my list.  Brett will probably innundate the 4 surrounding states!

jim

I liked the old one better. I wonder if the gothzombiemystic photo is the same one the FBI has....

Jon, the word is getting out. I hit Adler, Tendick and Bevier. I've gotten a few email questions as well. We may actually have some folks - oh yeah - and that Michigander I hear so much about. :-)

jim

Been done a while ago.

jim

ROCKIN'!  I think our first Ice Bowl will be yabba-dabba!  Jon, do you need any other help?  How many scorecards should I print out?

jim

Needed for Ice Bowl:

 - paper cups

 - plastic spoons

 - plastic bowls

 - 2 or 3 tables

 - hot chocolate mix

I'm bringing a 5'x2' folding card table but we need some more and/or bigger tables for registration, prizes, and foodstuffs.

I'm also bringing enough chili to feed an army and some hot chocolate (1 container). If folks want something different, like tea, please feel free to bring some.

I've made 30 scorecards (2 people on one card for all 3 rounds) and will bring plenty of pencils/pens, raffle box, donation jar, and music especially mixed for the occasion.

jim

Cool, Pat!  Check with Jon, but I'd say 3 tables should do it.  Maybe 10 chairs?

jim

Sounds good to me, Myk!

jim

I don't think WE'RE raffling a Mach anything. But perhaps we should raffle something. I have a few special personal disc items that I might be willing to part with . . . for charity.

jim

(1) Josh (of HyzerHurths.com) has offered to be a sponsor for the Ice Bowl! Woo-hoo!  Perhaps something like putting a sign up at the tee for a particular hole and make it a "CTP Hole Sponsored by HyzerHurths.com". He could provide a couple of discs as prizes.

I think it is very generous and I appreciate his support!

(2) The Milwaukee Ice Bowl inspired me. Their raffle brought in a ton of cash, of course it was a Solar Dome Mach5. We'll have Mulligans to bring in a few extra dollars, but how about a MiniSota Pole Hole to raffle off? They cost $55 and we can sell tickets for whatever Jon thinks is best. I recommend $3/1 ticket or $10/4 tickets or $20/10 tickets. I'll throw in a bunch of minis too.

Is this OK with you, Jon?

jim

Jon, I made signs for the road and to mark HQ. Also have mui scorecards. Scoreboard is ready. Kirsten and I are making a BUNCH of chili. She donated about $20 worth of Tastefully Simple products (her side business) for the making of this truly scrumptuous delight!  Woo-hoo!

jim

Paul told me yesterday that he will not play if it is this cold. His med condition just won't allow it. So he has volunteered to man tables for a few hours.

jim

That would be fine, Brett. Thanks!

Jon, I'd be happy to work and let you play if'n you want.

BTW, nice photos in DGWN! What a great issue!

jim

Pat, are you still good for the tables & chairs? Do you need help? What time are you planning on getting to Bevier on Saturday?

I plan on getting there around 7:30 or earlier.

jim

Pat, registration begins at 9am, so as long as you're there by then, we're cool. THANKS!

Damon, there is between 1-2 inches of snow on the ground, but is nwo starting to melt.

I recommend that, if possible, go to Bass Pro Shops in Gurnee Mills (or similar sports store) and buy some sock liners. They are white and look like thin tube socks, but really keep my feet warm and dry, especially when I wear them under a pair of tube socks. They cost about $4 a pair and are well worth it.

BC, are you buckling under to corporate pressure? The BC I know would tell his boss where to stick it, and then kick some butt at the Ice Bowl. JK. I hope you can make it buddy!

Also, we are NOT raffling off a MiniSota Pole Hole. We ARE raffling off a BRAND NEW Ching MINI-SKILLSHOT basket!!!  We will be among the first to see this new product. This is the first one Disc Golf World has sold! The price is slightly higher, but I think we'll sell more tickets.

I cannot wait for Saturday!  I spoke with Jon Brakel and he is ready for action. He is bringing tableware (bowls, spoons, napkins, etc.).

Can someone please pick up a bag of salt (snow salt) we can use on the tees? Let me know please.....  THANKS!

jim

I'll bring 2 coolers.

I was out there today, and there's more goosepoop than snow........

jim

I got the key for the building today. Mike Trigg also brought out 3 big round tables and said he'd put out 24 chairs. So, Pat, you really don't have to bring many chairs, although a table or two will probably be necessary.

jim

Oh yeah, Mike also said he'd bring some salt, but if you (Steve) can bring a small bag, just in case, it would be cool and appreciated.
