If this doesn't quiet the trash-talkers then they just can't be helped.

Personally, I'm having trouble deciding what tastes better, The victory itself or the cold beer I'm going to buy with the $5.00 I won from Tom McManus!!

If the game only came down to the quarterbacks then it wouldn't really be a question there!

That Indy/Pats game was awesome.  I personally am sick and tired of the Pats so I was pumped to see the Colts come back like that.  Finally Manning put together a good game in the playoffs.  After he threw that pick that got returned to the house, he pretty much dominated New England's defense.  No Super Bowl XX rematch.

I can't wait for this Super Bowl now.  Like all Bears games, its going to be tough to predict what is going to happen.  Rex pretty much sucked balls that last game, but he didn't turn it over which is all I've ever wanted from him.  If we do that again we are really tough to beat.  I think the whole team will step up and git r done come gametime.

Also memo to Reggie Bush, it really doesn't bother me, but when I compete I hold off on the elaborate celebrations until I'm atleast ahead in the game.  And that was a gay little dance.

Mitch Albom was saying yesterday that the Bears were saying that it was the Reggie Bush thing that got them fired up.  He then says, "So, is it just me, but if you're in the NFC Championship game and you aren't one of those teams you see there every year and you aren't fired up, isn't there something wrong here?"

Good point.  However, the Bears came out fired up and played that way.  The Saints took some of the fire back by scoring late in the first half and early in the second half.  That fire, or momentum, or what have you, dissapated when Reggie over indulged in his glory.  Rather than feeling sorry for themselves and playing scared, the Bears returned to playing mad.  No matter how fired up you think you are, there is always a waxing and waning of emotion.  That play showed the waxing and waning at its extremes.  As Reggie ran circles around the Bears, the emotional energy was all pointing towards lake Pontchartrain.  As he neared the goal line and started pointing at his pursuers, the energy returned to Lake Michigan.  This, of course, comes via the magic of hindsight.  If the Bears don't have a great punt followed by a safety we may still be saying that Reggie's great run turned the tide for the Saints rather than saying that his celebration turned the tide against them.

I'd say it was more just the safety that turned the real momentum of the game.  The defense might have had a vendetta against Reggie for that series, but it was the lack of getting the team out of the end zone area from Brees that turned it around.

I also am not a big fan of the "just let them play" officiating.  Call it just like any other game would be called.

I'm pretty sure Mitch Albom knows you don't just stay fired up for 3 straight hours no matter what team you are.  There is momentum shifts in every sport.  Its stupid to imply that the Bears were saying they were out there lollygagging around like they didnt care until they saw Bush do a dance.  I guarantee they were trying their hardest, but something like that can give you a little extra adrenaline rush to get momentum back in your favor.

I always want to try my hardest on every shot in disc golf, but sometimes I think we all do stupid things due to mental fatigue or whatever that just don't make sense in hindsight.

Guy goes to the NFC Championship and sees an empty seat. So he asks the guy next to the empty seat "Who would have a Bears ticket for the most important game of the year and not use it?!?"

The man says, "Actually, the seat belongs to my wife. We have not missed a single game together since we were first married in 1967 and got these season tickets for a wedding present. But she recently died."

The other guy says, "I'm very sorry to hear that. But couldn't you find a friend or a relative to use her seat?"

The man says, "No. They're all at the funeral.

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is an Indianapolis Colts fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they are Colts fans too. Not really knowing what a Colts fan was, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands fly into the air. There is, however, one exception. Susie has not gone along with the crowd.
The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm not a Colts fan" she reports. "Then," asks the teacher, "what are you?" "I'm a Chicago Bears fan!" boasts the little girl. The teacher asks Susie why she is a Bears fan. "Well, my Dad and Mom are Bears fans, so I'm a Bears fan too" she responds. "That's no reason," the teacher says. "What if your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?"

Susie smiles and says, "A Colts fan."

Cute joke but I figured the punchline would still say, "A Packer's fan."  Hmmm.

That joke is used frequently with <insert your favorite team name here> and <insert the team you hate the most here> all the time.  It's even a multi-sport joke.

I went out and guessed the Bears record this year at 14-2 and was scoffed at. I said that the Bears would go to the Super Bowl if Rex could keep his mistakes under control and again was scoffed at. Here's two more for you...the Bears are going to win the Super Bowl and Rex Grossman is going to become one of the premier quarterbacks in the NFL. It would be cool if the turning point in his career was the second half of the Saints game but I think he will continue to be unpredictable until about the middle of next season when he'll calm down a little and learn to think fast. Athletically he has what it takes to be a great quarterback. Hopefully once he learns to think quick enough he will still say stupid stuff in the post game interviews...I'd miss that! [scoff=on]...

If anyone has a link to an mp3 of the Bears fight song I'd appreciate it if you'd post it. I've been trying to find one to use as the ring for Blackberry. I found one on the CSO site but it was too big to save on my Blackberry.

Rex Grossman demonstrates the kind of inconsistancy you see in a lot of players right before something clicks and they take it to the next level.  Let's hope the clicking thing isn't his knee.

I found this one... pretty small, only about 83k or something like that.  I can't attach it to a post, but here's a link to it:
