Yeah.  Clark Park plays pretty fast.  It is flat and does not have disc eating schule.  The rounds will move right along.

That's true, there shouldn't be a lot of time looking for discs.  There are trees that can eat some discs, but as long as if you're watching you'll be able to find it.  Otherwise the disc will usually fall out of the tree.

TROPHY DISCS.  Wow.  Bruce, amazing.

I only did a quickie crop job, so I apologize for how stinky it looks around the edges.

Again:
Advanced and Intermediate will win an ESP Crush 174g trophy disc.
Recreational will win a Star Orc 172g trophy disc.
Women's will win a Star Sidewinder 150g trophy disc.

Pro's just win cash :)

Yea those are very cool! So just to be clear, the person that wins advanced will get just that as the prize or there will be a merch payout as well?

Thanks for the responses on the speed of the course. I'm guessing it's safe to say that we'll be all done by 5 then?

Payouts and players packs are still being worked out.  Payouts are currently set to go out to the top 1/3rd of the field for each division.

Being done by 5 depends on how much time you spend chasing down discs blown away by the wind.  >:D

Merch Payment in addition to the trophy disc for each of the 4 divisions.

My goal is to get everyone out of there by 4:30 at the latest.

oh yeah, there will be great payouts for all divisions :)  There better be, I've been spending a lot of time prepping all of the money for player packs and payouts!

Players Packs:
Women's and Rec will receive a mini + $8 "Rob 'em Rewards" dollars for your choice of merchandise. (it's enough for a DX/Pro-D disc).
Advanced and Intermediate will receive a mini + $12 Rob 'em Rewards dollars for your choice of merchandise. (enough for a Pro/Elite-X disc).

We are going to have greater than a 150% total payout for all divisions (including ctp's, player's pack, payouts, other prizes).  The payouts for how you place will be determined using the 2007 PDGA payout tables.

Additionally, you will be able to save up your Rob 'em Rewards dollars and use them at any point in the year at future tournaments!  They will expire at the end of the year.

There will be a disc selection Innova, Discraft, and Quest.  There will also be Innova bags available for purchase (Standard, Deluxe, and 2 tour bags).

For those of you that come out, your feedback about the event will be greatly appreciated!

If someone wants to help me, we can do DISContinuum bag tags as well at the event.  Even though I'm not playing I think I'm going to be wrapped up enough in getting other stuff done!

I had a good time at this event.  Got to witness Taylor's ace (it must suck knowing the rest of the day is going downhill  ;D ).  Enjoyed the temp hole, although I didn't play it very well.  I was surprised at the high payout given the small size of the field.  Much more rec. friendly than Cold Turkey last November.  My son took third in rec. at Cold Turkey, with a much larger field and a higher entry fee and got $3 in funny money  ::).  I don't recall your payout exactly, but I know it was much higher.  I think the only thing that may have backfired a bit was salting the tee pads.  In hindsight, it would have been better to either clean them off or leave them alone.  The salt just turned them into slush.  No big deal, just a thought for the future.  Thanks!

I agree on the teepads. I slipped way too many times and I probably should have learned my lesson, but I did not. My worst slip was on the alternate and my disc landed over by 7's basket. As far as the payouts, I think that they were a little deep, but on the other hand it was nice that pretty much everyone went home with something since the player's pack was awesome and there were so many CTP's. As for the food gift certificates as part of the payout, I would probably use those as CTP prizes in the future and just bump up the payouts a bit instead. It was nice to see some community support though!

I'm glad to hear that.  I did the trophies at pretty close to no profit because Scott told me they would be generous in the payouts and wanted to keep trophy costs down.

A Big Thanks to All who came out on Saturday.  Aside from the weather changing frequently throughout the day, and Alicia and I freezing our buns off, I am glad to see that everyone had a good time at "Irish....Luck".

Alicia and I want to mention that we enjoyed meeting a lot of new faces at Clark Park, and hope to see many of you at future tournaments.

Although it did seem that the payouts were a little extreme, I am glad to see that most everyone walked away from there with something, and that everyone was happy about that (except for maybe being a little cold).  ;D

I will be working on the results today, and sending them to Wilbur to get posted to illinoisdiscgolf.com.

I will also try and post them here.

Thanks for the feedback!

As for next year's "Irish You the Best of Luck" Tournament, I will be looking to host it at an 18-hole course.

Thanks Again!

lol, you want payouts not as big? haha, fine with me! :P  I wanted to make sure we had at least a 150% payout, and I think once everything is added up we'll be at that level if not even higher.

But hey, it makes you want to play the next event, no? ;)
