I am playing. I am looking to go to NC in march to practice if anyone is interested.

Doug,

Paul said Reedy was in short placements right now for the winter so it was not worth going over the other courses that Brett hasn't seen.

Sugaw is nothing special, has a few tight holes but for the most part plays in a park setting with some mature trees to navigate around. Similar to Illinois courses. Paul mentioned SSA for Sugaw is 49, but almost every hole there is reachable for most people. Just stay in control of your drives.

Winget we didn't play because it was a bit out of the way and we were really trying to cram the nicer courses in. I am looking at the pictures of that course now and it looks like a lot of fun. Reminds me of Akita's Run in Missouri where again, every hole is reachable, but you have to be able to shape lines and hit gaps. You either hit your target and get up there for a putt or an easy 3, or you're scrambling to save par or bogey. Looks like a lot of cedars at Winget. If the 2 meter rule is in effect it can get some people.

That list is all we played Doug. Sun up to sun down both days.

Sugaw is a good course. Every hole is reachable if you can throw 360. Here are the results from the December event.  It's a course you can shoot under par or over par. There is out of bounds that comes into play on quite a few holes.

Keep in mind that the tourney Brett posted a link to was a breezy day and I hear some of the top pros had difficulties making their putts go in.

Here is Killborne. Not sure what layout is being played but the Skillborne layout is a beast!

Eastway--Super fun course. Again. If all longs are played it's a beast! This shows the short tees.

Course info-->There's only one layout being set up at each course for play by all divisions playing there with the exception of Eastway where there will be a shorter layout played by some divisions.

Elon  Angry Beaver-- Very fun course and difficult. Par 66 that plays 7000 ft. Don't let the first 2 holes fool you. It gets tough.
Elon Eager Beaver --The easiest of the course we played. Short tees play in the 3000 and the long tees play in the 4000. Running to finish before dark and throwing only Rocs and putters I shot a 48.

Is this video Elon-Eager Beaver-Long Tees?

Is Elon-Angry Beaver a different course at the same park?
Tyler Williams - #26936

CEValkyrie

Yes. It's Elon Eager Beaver. They just call it Elong Shorts & Longs down there.

The other course is the Angry Beaver.

Original Renny-- Check out the green of #8 at 3:13 followed by #9. You get a great look of #9 from above on the life guard chair.

Elon-Angry Beaver Hole #2
Looks like a pretty easy and ordinary hole. If that had missed the basket that disc was in the water and gone forever!

The Blake Hotel shows no rooms available on the reservation website. However, I called their reservation center ( 1-888-664-6835 using the identifier "Combined World Disc Golf Championships.") and was able to book a room for the week.
Ron

roman

Yep, the website would show no rooms available because they have a bunch reserved for the disc golfers. You aren't going to get access to the reserved rooms unless you call and use that identifier.

Regiestered yesterday.  Kansas City in 2009 had 922 combined players.  Could this be the first year to get over 1,000 players?

We're going to rent a house instead of going the hotel route, is anyone familiar with the area able to recommend a few good areas? From what I quickly looked at, Uptown Charlotte was the hot spot, but looking for other suggestions as well.

You basically want to look anywhere south/southeast of uptown. Don't go west, north, or straight east (unless you get to the outer highway loop on the east side). Northeast is probably the worst you can do :)

Worlds pre-reg player list was posted, glad to see my name on there.

Already 334 Ams!  Looked like ~120 Advanced, so almost half-full if they cut it off at 288 as advertised.  It was posted that some of the age-protected divisions are already full and others are almost full.  So, if you are invited to Am Worlds and are attending, you should probably make sure you get your money in before May 1 when they open it up to non-invited players.  Its going to fill fast at that point.

Pros, not too many registered yet, so nothing to worry about.
