Across the street 4 of the 6 baskets are in. The 5th basket will be installed tomorrow and they ordered the 6th. Hopefully it will be in soon. 3 of the baskets need to be moved slightly. I have the tees marked and flags where the 2 missing baskets go. Orange flags for the tees & blue flags where the baskets go.

The club is going to order fly pads. The course will have 9 cement tees & 9 rubber tees.

Hopefully we can get the coruse renumbered & tee signs on all 18.

My goal is to have the course completed by the club invitational on August 17th.

The other two big willow trees on the right side of hole one have been totally removed. The big willow to the left of the basket was removed a few weeks ago. Now hole one is just a short totally open hole :'(
On the plus side it looks like they used mulch from the willows to mulch the fairways on holes 6,8,B,C,and 9.Hole B looks very nice with the mulch from the tee all the way to the path that goes to hole C.On hole C they mulched the tee and the area by the basket. With the new holes and recent course maintenance this course is looking and playing good. :toothy12:

mirth

sucky about the willows but we knew it was only a matter of time.

The new holes are great, guys!  :D
Considering the terrain across the street is very rutty and weedy, you made the most out of the slight elevation that exists.  Adding length to the new holes was absolutely necessary to add some challenge.
I am so glad to see that the Club followed up on the original 5-year plan that we forged back in 2002. Very well done, DISContinuum.

It's probably been a year or more since I shot a round at Bevier. Now I'm going to have to get down there this week and check out the new holes. Thanks for adding onto it.

kyle

How long is that last hole across the street? 600 to 650 or so?

mirth

Somethin like that.

Played two rounds here yesterday and on hole B(soon to be #16) all the trees in the center of the fairway have been cut down.It looks like it was done by the park district,I dont know if it was part of a plan or what but I think it sucks! the 12 holes on the east side of the road are playing very easy with all the willows on hole 1 down, the brush clearing on 6,7, 8 and hole 9  can only be played in the short pin placement. The clearing of the trees on hole B was not needed.I think holes 1 and 9 need new pin placements.I have some ideas if anyone cares to hear them.

mirth

geesh. that sucks. those 4 trees were what gave B1 & B2 its difficulty. did they at least move the bridge back?

fly pads have been ordered for the new holes & A-C. they're arriving early next week & may be installed in time for the invitational, depending on how trashed brett's arms, shoulders, and back is after this week.

Yes they moved the bridge back and it has lots of bounce to it  :toothy10:

DiscGolfSchodt

Since they cut those trees down when it comes time to choose a tee for that hole a vote for as far back as possible.

mirth

well, if they moved the bridge back then I guess I don't care as much then. Still sucks, but I'm glad the bridge is where it should be!

had to go across the bridge 1 at a time today and pass bags & stuff so we could jump. creek was 2' past the bridge on the basket side. the missing trees on B make it an easier 3 but still requires a good shot.

Agree with Tom we should consider making B1 the official tee.

Bevier now has 18 good tee pads. 9 cement & 9 rubber. I'm hoping the final basket will be installed prior to the invitational next  Friday. We moved 3 of the baskets across the street to their proper positions.

I have to thank Adrian Sr, Adrian Jr, & Tom S. for helping out today. The rubber tee pads aren't perfect but they are much better than I expected. They are are fairly level. We'll just have to wait & see what happens. Tom S. & I had no problem throwing off them tonight.

Also, Hole B is probably the best holes on the course now. The tee area has been cleared and there is a very nice fairway.

Thanks for all the hard work, guys!!!  One of these days there will be a work day on a day I don't have to work and I'll be able to help.  Can't wait to play Bevier now, haven't played it since March and haven't even seen it since then.  I'll probably be out there Mon and Tues during the day if anyone wants to get a round or three in.

Myk

Is there any chance we can get the hole distances marked on the score cards for leagues?  I know last week everyone in my group kept asking how far the holes were.  Thankfully Nick knew most of the distances.
