A friend rented MI:3 the other day and we watched it. Don't bother, it sucked.

But the commercial said it was the best one!?

Usually in movies the 1st installment of any "franchise" is the best, this was no exception.

I saw Running Scared (2006) last night. Best movie I've seen in quiet some time. Definitely worth the rent.

Saw "The Prestige" the other night. Pretty good, even in the slower parts. But I did see it at the Tivoli in Downers Grove for $3.  :)

Rented & watched "The Da Vinci Code" last night. Holy not-worth-the-hype Batman!

Mukey

Saw "Stay" last night, with Ewan McGregor , Namoi Watts , & Ryan Gosling.

Wish I had and hour and a half of my life back.
Slow movie, with the "twist" leaving you feeling disappointed that there wasn't something more at the end of the film.

Younk

Saw "Strangers With Candy" The movie last night and if you like the series on Comedy Central you will like the movie.  I actually like the series better though.

Saw Casino Royale, the new Bond flick Friday.

It's very good. Fans will not be disappointed and I would go to see the first 5 minutes again.

I saw it and I thought it was alright, but Pierce Brosnan is much much better.  This dude is just kind of quiet and doesn't have the same personality that you expect to see in a Bond movie.  It fit for this particular movie though because he is only starting out as a double agent.

As far as the action goes, the opening sequence was really about all your gonna get.  There was no really good car scenes which just pissed me off.  And the poker game lasts forever.

I actually watched 2 movies over the weekend!  I finally saw Peter Jackson's King Kong and then I watched the SpongeBob SquarePants movie lol.  Quite the contrast between the two movies obviously.  I really liked King Kong.  It did go a little long, but it was very well done.  Man can that girl (Naomi Watts) scream.  SpongeBob was ... well, SpongeBob.  The only part where I felt they went too overboard was the scene with David Hasselhoff.  It was just bizarre.  Other than that it was what I normally expected to see in a spongebob related show.  I like the SpongeBob "Dunces & Dragons" episode a lot better than the movie.

I have never been a big Bond fan but I really liked this one.  I am in the minority in that I like the new Bond.  I will leave comment to others but suffice it to say that my wife was swooning over the new Bond.  I have rarely heard her use the term "hot" to describe an actor. Two other cinema tidbits--

Saw The Fountain with the entire family including my in laws.  Its what I call a noble failure.  I doesn't always work but I still really liked it.  Three intersecting story lines in different times and places all about how we try to avoid death.  I would much rather see a movie that aims high and  doesn't always make it than a lot of other stuff out there.

Last night on cable saw a movie called 11:14 where a series events intersect in a small town at 11:14 p.m.  Each story line is sicker, weirder and more disturbing than the last. Hillary Swank is one of the ensamble.  If you like dark humor this will work for you.  My litmus test for this one would be the Coen Brothers movie Blood Simple.  If you liked that 11:14 will be worth a rental.

Oh man, the penis seen!  :o

For some reason, I watched You Me and Dupree the other night. Down right AWFUL! I was then in need to see something good, so I watched True Romance. That movie is definitely in my top 3.

Saw "Primer", a Sundance film the other night.

Basically, 2 researchers invent a time machine & problems ensue. Made for $7000, the main driving force is the dialogue. I actually regret returning it 'cause I should give it a second watch to get everything.

Saw "Superman Returns" last night. Pretty good, the use of the old Superman theme kinda brought me back. The new Superman channeled Christopher Reeve's stumbling Clark well and also got the "Goodnight, Lois" down. Kinda cool to see Superman really seeming super, effects-wise. Worth a rent, but not a purchase.

Oh yeah, Kevin Spacey was great as Lex Luthor, I just wish they kept the old Luthor theme also.

Saw Clerks 2 last night. While it had it's moments, it was nowhere near as funny as the original. The Randall character seemed to be trying too hard, but I think the best part was when he was downing the Lord of the Rings to a couple of die-hard Tolkien fans. It wastes away to a crappy love story.

Watched Miami Vice: too dark, uninteresting characters, a boring story, the women were not that hot, lame action sequences.  The soundtrack was good.  Pick up the soundtrack, avoid the movie.

I think that the first Die Hard was the best, no comparison with the other two.  As far as a sequel being better, I think Aliens is better than Alien.  They are two different types of movies, Alien was ok, but Aliens is one of my favorites.  Aliens is like The Dirty Dozen in outer space.
