14-2

At 13-3 I came pretty close! Too bad the Bears didn't have anything to play for in the last game and the Pack did. If Rex Grossman (or whoever QBs for the Bears) can go without throwing any interceptions for the playoffs, the Bears will go to the Super Bowl. Just thought I'd throw out another one of my "wild" predictions for you guys to scoff at! I do believe!!!

Only thing Bears fans will be doing on Feb. 4th is watching their calendars for the countdown for catchers and pitchers to report to spring training... that and watching the Bulls highlights from the game the night before.

Stupid Giants winning that 6th seed. bah.  Not that I think Green Bay would actually win in Philly, but it would have been interesting to see a Bears/Packers rematch.

I'm guessing that Philly will beat the Giants and Dallas beats Seattle.  That would leave Chicago vs. Dallas and New Orleans vs. Philly.

Regardless of what version of Dallas shows up, Grossman is going to be placing a lot of pressure on himself.  He's going to be out there trying to make stuff happen and hang the ball up there.  Keep the ball away from Hester and the Bears wind up 1-and-done.

what, final score of the Bears-packers game where the Bears only manage to get a safety?  :P  Sorry, that record sounds just a little too ambitious considering the offense.

Grossman is just following in the footsteps of his predecessors, a la Chris "Chandelier" Chandler.

I'd put the Bears around a 9-7 record this season.

You maybe right, but my track record for Bears predictions is better than yours so far.  ;D
I'm still saying that if the Bears' QBs don't throw any interceptions they will go to the super bowl this year.

I'll go you one further with Mr. Obvious predictions:  If the Bears only receive one kick-off per playoff game, they will go to the Super Bowl.   ;D

Where the heck did Adewale Ogunleye go?  This guy has shown up for just one game, in my eyes.  Is this guy worth a $33.4 million contract?  Heck no.

Without a good pass rush, the Bears D-backs are suspect to giving up some big plays.  Ogunleye needs to start doing his part!!

Holmgren and Lovie are in heaven...thankful to be there..
Looking around..Holmgren notices a nice 2-bedroom home decorated in Seahawk colors..pretty nice..

Next door is a 150 room mansion..swimming pools...tennis courts...full size football field...vendors giving away food, Bears gear. Bears flags flying all over the place on this 100 acre spread...
the property is Bears Bears Bears..

Holmgren thanks God for is spot in heaven but asks why is my house so small compared to Lovie's...

God says that's not Lovie's house, it's mine..

funny... it used to be <insert bears coach name here> looking over at the house he thought was for Mike Holmgren years ago all dressed in green and gold....

God is most like Bear's Fans.  Fair weather.  Haven't you noticed the sweet smell of moth balls in the air?  About every 5 years the Bears Fans pull their old Payton and Butkus jerseys out of the mothballs and then by half-time of their once every five year play-off game blow out defeat, the jerseys are right back in the box.  The question of the day is:  Who is this years Steve Smith?  My answer is Rex Grossman.

bears fans are fair weather??  i've never even heard that before even from a packer fan.  i have no idea why we would be considered fair weather.  if that were true, they wouldn't sell out every game and have one of the largest NFL team followings, because TRUST me, the weather has RARELY been fair.

BEARS WIN! BEARS WIN! BEARS WIN! Fade to black!!!

If that Rex Grossman (the ok one) shows up next week, the Bears go to the Super Bowl. I think they need the defense to make a better showing next Sunday though.

Of Brett's game? Yes.
Of the distance young guys can get? Yes.
Of all the courses compared to 20 years ago? Yes.
Of the Bears or their fans? Hell no.
The one thing that I will grudgingly admit is that the Bears do have a good fight song.

Reality-- both offensive and defensive lines underperforming.  However, Grossman exceeded expectations, running was good, special teams excellent.  Nobody looks that good right now.  No reason why the Bears cannot either win it all or flame out.  Who knows.  All I do know is that other than a nice end of the season victory cheese, well you know , its smells after a while.

I love reading the blog of Steve Rosenbloom, and last week he posted up a video that all it does is makes me shake my head and sigh... but it might be worthwhile to watch.

As Rosenbloom put it...

These Bears are boring, starting with coach-slash-human-quaalude Lovie Smith, so let's all do the "Super Bowl Mumble."

Nobody looks that good right now.

Except for maybe the Colts (didn't see all of that one), none of the games were 'won' as much as they were 'lost' by the other teams. I wouldn't put any money on anyone at this point.

As a one-time New Orleans resident (I was there during the 86 SB but had no chance at tickets) it was cool to see the Saints move ahead though. Unless you've lived there you can't really understand what Carnival and Football mean to that culture. A Super Bowl certainly won't fix the unbelievable problems that still exist for the people who still live there (and there were definitely some serious problems long before the hurricane), but it would make a movie plot that no one would believe (not that someone would probably film it anyhow.)

I was telling myself that it was OK if the Bears lost as it meant another home game for N.O., but towards the end my instinctive emotions were taking over. Next week will be interesting, esp. with 2 Packer fans in the house.
thanks,
Damon

Well put.  Once again, the secondary was picked apart because there was no pass rush.  If Brees can sit back and throw, it's going to be a long day.  I am not worried about their rushing game.  Why?  Last year's NFL MVP was shut down on 4th and 1.  That's saying something, even if he had turf toe.  Turf toe, smurf toe, Briggs mopped the floor with him, not once, but twice!
