Attached are the tees that will be played for Aurora.

Some quick notes.

Saturday--Adv/Pro--Long Tees both rounds
Sunday--Int/Rec/Jr--Long Tees round #1 & Short Tees round #2

Hole #2 has near identical tees. Round #1 will be played to the right(south) of the sign and Round #2 will be played to the left(north)of the sign on both Saturday & Sunday.

Hole #7A will be played to the east of #8's tee. It will shoot over the water to a portable basket near the lake. There is a short zone you can lay up to or you can drive all the way to the basket. There will be a drop zone if you land in the water off the tee. You will then have to walk back to #8's tee.  Please be courteous when crossing by #8's Tee and back up the fairway.

After you play hole #13 you will walk west around the soccer fields towards the west entrance road. You will have to cross the fairway to #14 to get to #13A. Please be courteous. Holes #13A, B, & C will be played in the Northwest corner of the park leading back to Hole #14. Hole #13C plays down the gravel service road with the fence being OB to the left.

Here is a map of the 18 hole layout. http://www.foxvalleyparkdistrict.org/headlines/discgolf.html

Sweet pin placement on #7A Brett!!

I've been wishing for a hole on that little peninsula since they installed the park. Can't wait to play it and (hopefully) not go in the water.  ::)

It's going to be fun!

Brett,

Here's the map I made for Gary's Glow Tournament last year.  I still have the drawing and aerial map in it's original state.

I actually did not measure 7A or play it. I forgot before I left. I think i put 250 on the spreadsheet but it's probably 275 down hill possibly a little longer. It's definitely not over 300 feet. There is a short area to throw to for anyone that cannot carry both sets of water.

The other 3 I did measure.

Do you really want Rec/JRs/women throwing over the tall junk on long 14? I believe its about 200 ft to the short tee. If you treat it like water it exceeds the recommendations for these divisions. I'm ust afraid there will be a handful of lost discs for people not making it.

Smaller arms can always opt to play it safe and throw to the left where the distance is much shorter.

can't putt

The weeds really taper back towards the left.  The distance to the short tee is about 200', but the distance across the weeds straight at the hole is around 150'.  There is a footpath through the weeds from the long tee to the fairway.  This path angles slightly left from the tee.  Following the path, the distance across is around 120'.

Another trick is to watch your disc land and then walk straight to it.  Those weeds are not matted like at Streamwood.  They won't eat too many discs.

The weeds at Streamwood are a portal to another dimension.  >:D

I had nothing to do with the temporary hole by the lake.   :angel4:

Aurora is looking sweet! I forgot to mention that in my first post. Very fun course to play. They have all the cement tee pads completed for both short & long tees. Nice and BIG. They won't be done for the tournament but alternate pin positions are in the works. I also found out another course will be installed in North Aurora in the next year on a 35 acre site. I heard it is some nice land for disc golf. Can't wait!

Yeah, the course is looking sweet and the alternate pins will be amazing. Also in the talks is getting basket 16 elevated.

The ace pot was drained to nothing at Streamwood by those that played on Saturday. But the fine lower divisions started feeding the ace kitty the very next day.

Look out for cops at Jericho.  :police: They are out there a lot anyway; but lately it's been every single time I'm out there.  :hippy2:

Oh, and don't disturb the cable installer and the blonde, in the white van. They're out there a lot too.  :-*
