I NEVER have really checked out anything in this section of the message board but I'm glad I did.

I will just throw out the option that I have been working with a guy for the past 2 years or so and he's awesome.  Many of you have seen the different things I've been branding over the past 2 years and everything I've done is through him.

I have had screen printed tees done as well as a few other things including water bottles.  I do lots and lots of embroidery as well.  I have had Flexfit hats, tee shirts, polos, duffel bags, sweatshirts, coats, beanies, and other things I'm probably forgetting.

He can do whatever quality of product you want.  I've done some very cheap stuff and some very nice and expensive stuff.  He can get it all.  He's a great guy, very helpful and EXTREMELY knowledgeable about printing and the entire process.  I have referred him to a few others because I just can't say enough about him.

If you have any interest just let me know.  Unfortunately I don't make any commission for you working with him but I don't even care because I enjoy sending people his way!

...the BOD approved using the old logo but dropping the "of Northeastern Illinois est. 2001" part.

Wouldn't you want the location of your club?

I sent Mukey two versions: one without the "est. 2001" and one without the "of Northeastern Illinois est. 2001" part.

OK, I've got the logos from Serg (THANKS!!) and Terry is gonna e-mail me his guy's contact info & then I'll put together a few quotes from the different vendors & we'll go from there.

I'm shooting to have everything done & just needing to see who wants one & whatnot by the end of December.

We don't want to limit Discontinuum to just NE IL. One day  Discontinuum is going to one day take over disc golf completely and make the PDGA an affiliate club.  ;D

Then you ought to consider moving leagues to somewhere more central than Waukegan.

I would have pegged you as more of a crochet kind of guy!   ::)

I think the idea is more to maintain best shot in Waukegan but also run leagues elsewhere in the area. Why abandon what works?
Don't forget your towel!

drifting here.....

Does where you run leagues make a difference on a disc club's popularity? I'm a member of the PFC also, but I'm not driving down there for leagues. Leagues are everywhere in Chicagoland, but Discontinuum is the only club running tournaments(so far, Fox Valley has an Ice Bowl and I'm sure they'll have events on their courses outside of the IOS). There aren't many tourneys in IL without the IOS, especailly with no more Peoria Open. Heck, I know some of the Peoria guys by first name just from seeing them up here & by me travelling down there this year. I joined Discontinuum because of the tourneys. Leagues schmeagues. Tourneys are what counts.

....end drift

Back to the shirts, it will be a pay-first situation. We'll make an announcement once we've locked in a Vendor & pricing.

I've tried to communicate this in the past and it has come up now. I'd prefer DISContinuum not to be known for any course even if we run league in Waukegan. I envision DISContinuum as a large area in Chicago, the Chicago Suburbs and southern part of WI. We are doing our best to help the disc golf scene grow. We've helped grow leagues, added tournies, & have been working hard to get a quality course in the ground. We have members that cover many of these areas. Our members run leagues in WI, Libertyville, Buffalo Grove, & Round Lake even though they aren't officially DISContinuum League. With the support of the disc golfers in this big area we can make things happen. We hope we continue to get the tremendous support we had in 2006.

Update: Got the info from Terry & e-mailed his guy. Once he hits me back with prices & whatnot I'll get with the BOD.

Fox Metro Discer

Just wanted to say that if you are looking for some polos that have your club logo on them, one of the members at my club works for a prinitng company. He got them to donate the shirts that we wore at some tourneys this year. I would be happy to talk to him, if you would like, and get him in contact with you all.

Appreciated, but we're definetly going with embroidering vs. just printing our logo on there.

Finally got in touch with Terry's guy & will be sorting out options today at lunch, then getting back to the Board of Directors with which option(s) seem best.

FYI: Got prices quoted & submitted it to the BOD. If approved, I'll try to get sample sizes before the next club meeting.

Ok, I know there's hasn't been any new info on the club shirts lately & I take full responsibility. I've been busy looking for an apartment, so I haven't given this the time it deserves.

Just by going through the thread, I'm seeing about 12 people who want shirts.
(Dave Barish, Mirth, Dan Michler, Tom S, Brett, Tom M, Bruce, Jon, Serg, Josh Younkin, Schumann, & Becky.

I assume that the whole Brakel clan would probably order shirts, so that would put it in the 15-20 shirts range.

If anyone else is interested, please post. I'm trying to get an accurate figure of how many we will be ordering & then will be using that to get Vendors to send me some sample sizes.
