last time we did a shirt order we went thru a waukegan place. didn't find out until after the fact that the shirts were a touch small... or maybe they shrunk on the first wash. I don't remember exactly it was in 2004!

Anyhow, I've been looking around a bit for wholesale shirt vendors. Best I've found so far is about $17/polo (XS - XL, XXL is +$2, XXXL I think is +$4) for Port Authority Rapid Dry 60/40 shirts. Anybody ever seen the polos Discraft has? This is the exact shirt they use. I got two with brass in 2005 and they're great.

If we came up with an initial order of 40 shirts then the per shirt cost after setup & embroidery would be about $35.
Can bring one of those polos to league this sunday if anybody wants to see them in person, just let me know ahead of time...

Sounds like a great idea.

I think if we get anywhere near $35 for a drying type fabric with an embroidered logo we are doing pretty good.  I had seen a website when I started this thread that appeared to have some garments in this neighborhood. An example is:

It looks like Mukey is in this neighborhood.  Thannks for the research Chris.

spike

spike will want one or two in xxl.  thanks.
have the good fun.

You might need to wait until after Bowling Green, but Johnny "Roundhouse" Luetzow from Rock River Disc Golf also does shirts. I can talk to him and see what types of prices he could offer.

I play volleyball with a person who owns and Embroidery shop, I can get a quote if you want.  Just let me know if you want me to find out the cost.

NOTE: PLEASE TAKE NO OFFENSE AS NONE IS INTENDED

I think if we keep chit chatting about it the season will be half over before we get them.  We need to buckle down and just make a decision.

Just my $.02

the shirts aren't going to happen. we are almost half way through the year.  I am just going to take a quality shirt of mine and put something of my own on it at this rate.  Go team Discontinuum!

I have submitted 3 or 4 proposals to the Board of Directors, with none of them getting approved. Short of spending my own $ to setup the logo at an embroidery place, I doubt it's gonna happen either.

Nothing hasn't been unapproved, I don't know why the conversation keeps dying on our end of things. I found a good line on Port Authority polos (same that Discraft uses for their polos) that would have had each shirt with a finished price in the area of $40/ea. Maybe we should just run with it.... People can either supply their own cloth or get one of these shirts.

I'm in favor of that. Publish your source of the polos or people can supply their own and let's run with it.

I think the discussion here has shown a pretty good amount of agreement on a sweat wicking, dry fit, modern poly, non cotton type polo thang.  The only thing that seems somewhat unresolved is which vender and what desing.  If You guys were to say you wanted to just keep the same design or use one you had now, you could print out the web pages from the vender of your choice and show an example of the design de jour.  You could place this on the club table over the weekend and start taking in money.  We might even be able to get things for Worlds.

It seems Mukey was waiting for a yes (which seems reasonable)
It seems the BOD didn't say no (which might mean yes or might mean maybe or might mean...)
it seems like (making a gross geneeralization here) women would have figured this out. They confirm everything.  Us men, smelly beasts that we are, rarely make the follow up phone call or confirming e-mail.  So, lets lay it out on the table...maybe even tomorrow.  Mirth? Mukey?  Waddya say? :tshirt:

I will not be at IOS2, and I need to find my notes on shirts and stuff. I'll start a new thread and whatnot over the weekend.

Run with it Mirth. Brett's got all the info I sent in to the Board if you need to review it.

white_rhino

I now work for a company that produces shirts.  I can get shirts made on regular t-shirts, 50-50 cotton/polyester blends or 100% polyester with embroidery or screen print.  I will tell Mirth our princing when I get a chance.
