Club member Diabetic Dave Nelson shoot'n good after round five he is tied for 17th.   Go Diabetic Dave!!!!! :hello2:

The crown is my birdie hat.  The photographer was shooting me in my crown today so I 'splained it to her.  When I get a birdie I put on the crown.  When I get a Bogie, I put on some other funny hat.  For birdie/bogey purposes, I'm calling par whatever the tournament tee sign says par is.  So a 3 on a 550 foot par 4 is a birdie.  When Kelsey beats me she gets possession of the crown until i beat her back.

Today i started with a double bogie o.b. unless they were calling that hole a par 4.  So I immediately put on the bogey hat.  Two holes later I made a nice putt for 2 and putt on the crown.  I wore the crown for the rest of the round and shot my personal best round at Robert Morris.  Ratings are now screwed up because after the Sort they cannot sort the pools by pool anymore until they run it by hand at the end.  My 56 at Morris is probably 950 rated.

Kelsey had a 983 round at Begg yesterday with an ace on a 185 tunnel turn over shot, and was certain she had won the crown until Discontinuum's newest member, Eric the Crushin' Russian downloaded scores at dinner.  I had a 986 at Timber Ridge.  [Eric is an American who grew up in Hawaii and went to Russia 14 years ago on a tourist visa.  He has lived in Russia ever since.  He has mad skills for a dude who started playing Russian object courses 1.5 years ago.  He was and is an Ultimate player.]

Timber Ridge is a ski hill course that is all about playing smart with ski hill skills.  The ski runs are easy to hit if you throw a mid 350-400 but if you try to crush a 700 footer down the run, you either turn it over or hyzer out and if you get off the run you're often doomed.

This library is closed tomorrow.  I'll try to update on the Kelsey situation.  I'm 12th card in the top Advanced pool.  Diana is trying to fight her way back into the final 9.

QuoteWhen Brett is on he can be freakin awesome. I still hold out the -8 from the longs I saw him shoot at McNaughton before the Lesser Peoria Open as one the best rounds I ever saw personally.

A 46 from McNaughton longs or Morton longs?

Lesser Peoria Open?

if you look carefully you can also see that it's his entire group that is driving the hole - it starts about 5 seconds sooner.  You'll see brett standing in the background slowly moving his way forward towards the tee box before finally taking his turn.  Unfortunately he was last to throw so either there isn't a lot of movement on the card, or he had a not so great hole just slightly before.  Hope you nailed the drive on video Brett!

This news just in...Kelsey shot a 60 in round 7 giving up 8 throws to second place Michelle Frazer who shot a 52. Kelsey's lead is now just 7 throws. Kelsey was quoted as saying "I played like a junior girl."

Diana is in last prize place (whatever that is) in Women's Adv Masters. Kira is right around last prizes for Advanced Women which is very cool!

Was that Dave Barish in that video with the short putt that he held in the chains? It looked like him and the guy was lefty.

Just got back.  Everybody from IL had an awesome time and the courses were really all fantastic from what I saw.  Tournament was run extremely well and I have no complaints.  One of my best tournament experiences ever.

As far as the 41 that Orum shot in Albion, that is 1 shot off of a perfect round at that course.  There is a par 5 that he 4'd and a par 4 that he 3'd.  He missed the birdie on one of the easiest par 3's on the course.  I shot the course today and trust me, alot of the deuces are extremely difficult shots and to make all of them in 1 round is one of the most amazing rounds ever.  If you played doubles there every week you would maybe see one 41 turned in per year.  1 of the holes he deuced is 522 feet a little downhill through a tight gap in pine trees.  Another hole is 420 feet uphill that he threw a roller on through the trees.  unreal.

Watched alot of the Pro action at Timber Ridge.  These guys are pretty good and you wouldn't believe some of the shots they attempt.  I picked Feldberg before the tourney but honestly find it hard to root for that guy after watching the action this week.  Doss, Orum, and Randolph all seemed like really cool guys.  Barry seems really focused more than alot of guys when I saw him, he shot really well that day and rallied for a 6th place finish.  It was cool to see Climo, Jenkins, Rico, Kallstrom (the disc goes 100 mph out of this guy's hand) etc.. throw as well.

whats wrong with feldberg?

The entire week he found something to complain about. Whether it be the way that the putting contest was run, the courses used for the pros, the way the wind was blowing, the color of the other guys shirts and anything else you can think of.

For being one of the top players on tour, you would think he would realize that he is not the only pro playing the same course as him, everyone else has the same conditions.

I just saw it and yeah, it was me. Drop in for par.  This event was more fun than should be allowed.  I blogged about it at http://discgolfer.ning.com/profile/DavidBarish

Feldberg punching himself in the head with both hands was pretty funny.  Steve Mills caddying for him was also pretty funny.  All the complaining I witnessed from Dave- not so funny.  That guy can do some amazing stuff with a disc, but he just isn't right in the head.

I find Feldberg's asinine behavior no more unappealing than Climo's dicksian behavior. At least when Feldberg isn't acting like an ass, he has a sense of humor. I'm not sure what Climo acts like when he's not being a dick...does anyone?  ;D
