Initial site was released today. www.2008discgolfworlds.com

When I try this at work I get:

Access to this web page is restricted at this time.
Reason: The Websense category "Sex" is filtered.

WTF??

Me too! Talk about anal company web filter programs!

Plus, I don't think sex is an element of disc golf at all. Unless they've had bikini-clad hotties at a fly mart that I'm unaware of... ;D

I still can't access the website becasue of the Websense category "Sex" is filtered. Will this ever be fixed?

I've posted on the PDGA boards about this in the past because people have mentioned it. Without more information about the filtering system, I can't really do anything. If you are able to send me some information I can pass it on to the web hosting company so that they can clean up their mess.

Most likely it's from shared hosting and and the other domains sharing your IP are categorized. You can try contacting Websense to see if they can update their database for the 2008discgolfworlds.com domain.

Problem Description:

I want to suggest a Master Database category for an uncategorized site, or I think that a site has been miscategorized. Is there a way for me to suggest that a specific site be moved to a different Master Database category?
Error Messages: (Detailed)

N/A
Resolution:

There are two ways to ask that a site be added to a Master Database category:

    * Use the Site Lookup Tool, available via the Websense Support Portal, to verify the site's current category, and then to suggest a new category. You are prompted to log on to MyWebsense before accessing the tool.
    * Email Websense at suggest@websense.com.

Thanks Mike, can you pass on the URL that you got that from? I'd like to read a little more about it first. I'm on the websense site, but can't seem to find that info that you pasted.

Looks like Advanced pools are playing Meyer and Three Rivers 2 times each.  What are we looking at with those 2 courses?  Heavy woods?  What score would you say is 1000 rated?

Timber Ridge is the only course that pros and advanced play it looks like.

Kimball Pines i've heard is tight and Robert Morris I know nothing about.

Can't wait.

There should be photos up on the worlds site that takes you discgolfmichigan.com or something like that.

Meyer Broadway is almost two different courses between the front 9 and back 9. Front 9 has a lot shorter of holes, with the exception of 1. The shule is long and the fairways aren't huge, but staying in them is key here. There are a few wooded holes as well, but mostly it's open. The back 9 is about twice as long with good use of elevation as well. The temp course I don't know anything about yet. 52-53 will be 1000 on the regular course.

Kimball Pines is definitely tight, especially in the summer. I've actually only played it in the winter and it's a really fun course. Lots of tight gaps, but smart play helps to prevail here. Get into trouble, take the stroke and move on before making it worse. There are a lot of deuce holes, but those can easily be 4's too. 4-5 holes over 400, with a few being very tough 3's. I think I remember being around even as 1000 there, but most tourneys there also have alternates which make it easier.

Robert Morris is a well designed course. Holes 1 and 2 will pretty much tell the story of the entire round though unfortunately. There are a lot of tweener deuce holes for advanced level players so if you get into trouble on 1 and 2, it's tough to really bring the score back down a lot. Good use of elevation here and lots of different types of shots. Front 9 is more about accuracy and placement, back 9 is a lot more distance with a few deuce holes mixed in. 52 is about 1000 rated.

Timber Ridge is sweet. It's hard to say how the shape of the course is going to be though since it was last used in September or October of '06. Awesome elevation shots from both directions and the course definitely favors distance throwers, but this isn't to say that you can't shoot well there if you don't throw far. Brent Koontz tied the course record playing blind there at the last tourney held at 56. 1000 rated I have no clue but course par is around 66 I believe. Probably good to get into shape for this course though as it is an ass kicker.

Physical therapy ends for me on the 5th, so if all goes well in the next four weeks, worlds is my next tourney!

This year at pro worlds i'm going with

1st= Rico
2nd=Doss
3rd=Feldberg

That's right Steve Rico 2008 World Champ!!!!

tacimala

My bets are on either Feldberg or Bennett. Bennett has been practicing a lot in that area this year and Feldberg started playing in Kalamazoo. A little edge never hurt!

There is no way I can bet against Feldberg right now.  He's the most consistent player in the world and over the course of 8 rounds he is the man to beat.  If Dave doesn't win....Climo is excellent in the woods and correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't he won this tournament before??  My sleeper pick is Eric McCabe.

There are actually a few leagues already set up, one on the PDGA boards and a few at http://www.fantasydg.com/. They may be the same one now, but either way there are already things like that going on.

I heard that Climo injured his arm at the Scandinavian Open.

Final 9 players:
Mick Cabe
Feldburg (if his knee is healed)
Shultz
Doss

*McBeth (my darkhorse pick) He is really, really unbelievable.

I plan on taking a trip up there for Fri/Sat
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.
