Where would the best (and cheapest) camping be found?

Cold Brook Park -  I am leaning toward here due to a course being on site. $15 bucks a night

American Campgrounds

Shady Bend Campground

Any info will help!!

Thanks.

I would be surprised if Coldbrook had sites left.  A lot of players are staying there.  It was an acceptable campground last time I stayed there.  If you want to stay there, call today.

Oh, that.  I'd be willing to shave and wear a skirt.  How's the arm?   ::)

LOL

Arm still not doing well even with lots of resting it. Doc said July 20th I'd be cleared to play again so I'm hoping that is true.

Yeah, I know that story, but that doesn't mean I pictured Bruce in a drag

Any opinions from current or past 'locals' on some of the courses for Worlds? Begg, Robt Morris, Kimball, Oshtemo appear to be what the almost ancient guys are scheduled for, besides the temp course.
thanks,

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

Begg Park isn't all that fun but the other three are cool courses and all four are fairly unique, which will make it a good set of courses to play. Only downside may be the length on all of those. Keep it in the fairway at Oshtemo and Kimball Pines!

Anything specific you want provided?

You need accuracy in the woods to score well in Kalamazoo.  Oshtemo and Kimball especially have lots of pine tree lined fairways and schule lined fairways.  If you have limited time to scout them in advance, Kimball, Oshtemo, Robt Morris and Begg, in that order.  I'm not local but we've played them for tournaments and have gotten over that way some this year for Worlds scouting.

I'm not sure where you go from Chicago to practice accuracy in the woods.  I've been playing Holly a lot for that.

All of these courses are cartable.  All of them have poison ivy.

I don't either  :P Although I have tried tossing around in the woodsy areas of forest preserves before...

Channahon longs would probably be your best bet. Different types of foliage, but practicing hitting the gaps with accuracy would be the key.

I think that's your best bet for practice. The CC forest preserves have lots of great fairways, just no baskets...but you don't need baskets to practice keeping it in the fairway.

Not a bad idea. I think I might bring a few Rocs, putters and short drivers to a hiking trail in the forest preserve this weekend.

The Waterford Brakels are in.  I'm playing Advanced.

Almost 2/3rds of the Advanced field is Intermediate or below.  If you can compete in Intermediate you can compete for finishing in the top half of the field.  There are 40 or so players rated Rec and below.  If you can compete in Rec you won't be DFL.

Initial site was released today. www.2008discgolfworlds.com

When I try this at work I get:

Access to this web page is restricted at this time.
Reason: The Websense category "Sex" is filtered.

WTF??

Me too! Talk about anal company web filter programs!

Plus, I don't think sex is an element of disc golf at all. Unless they've had bikini-clad hotties at a fly mart that I'm unaware of... ;D

I still can't access the website becasue of the Websense category "Sex" is filtered. Will this ever be fixed?

Disc Golf Live

For those wondering about interesting perks at this year's Worlds...

I'm pleased to announce that all Amateurs competing this August in K'zoo will receive a DVD as part of their player's package.  The "My Worlds 08" DVDs will be custom-made for each pool and will include footage of each player on two holes.  As play begins, the My Worlds video crew will be taping the various pools while behind the scenes our production crew will be creating DVDs.  Later in the week, we'll deliver each pool's DVDs to their assigned course.  We're looking forward to providing a way for competitors to show folks back home a little about their trip to the Worlds, and to see themselves and their contemporaries at play.

Partnering opportunities available.  This footage will be used for multiple purposes, and both banner and dvd ads are available.
