Mike and I talked about it briefly a while back, but not recently. I'll find out.

I spoke with Mike Trigg today.
He is checking with Scott McLean about wood availability, cost, and reimbursement.
Mike also told me that the BMX Park/Course across the street (to the west across McAree) IS going in this Spring/Summer.  I will be speaking to him more about incorporating 6 more disc golf holes around that property.

Please refrain from playing Hole C until Sunday, April 4th.
The grass seed needs a chance to grow in order for this fairway to shape up properly.  PLEASE be kind to your course. This way, the course will be even better in a few short weeks.
I will also post this notice at the course.

I went out to Bevier this morning and posted info on Wildwood Installation and request for players not to play Hole C.  After walking back there, we should have closed Hole B as well. Talk about MUD! The water was touching the east side of the B Bridge, but it was solid. Bridge C was still downstream, collecting lots of debris.
I collected one full bag of garbage and cleaned up the logs/branches lining the basket 8/tee 9 area.
I've got a nasty cold but will try to make it to leagues tomorrow.

I took the liberty of rescheduling the next Bevier Work Day to next Saturday.
LET'S GET THIS WORK DONE!  Woo-hoo!

I think having the workday is a good idea, but have you heard back from WPD yet about some bridge materials? I don't know what use I'll be if my back continues to be this bad...

IF the Wkgn Pk Dist gives us materials, we'll have to work with what's given us. If they want us to purchase the materials, then we can buy exactly what we need. If that is the case, I'd ask to be reimbursed. I hope to find out by Tuesday.

Although the bridge project might be on hold, we still need to:
1. Pickup garbage course-wide
2. Get debris out of creek
3. Spread woodchips (WPD to deliver) on Holes 6, A, 8, B, C, 9
4. Reinforce logs/branches along Holes A, 8, and B
5. Possibly removing some of the dead debris to the right of B's fairway

About the bridge.....
The folks at the Wkgn Park District are concerned about liability. and possible ADA implications.
We might need to come up with a new plan or perhaps they will. Maybe stones. Maybe concrete.  As soon as I find out, so will everyone else.

But the other jobs need to get done, so volunteer for an hour or three and help keep the course looking and playing GREAT!  questions?  Email me at office@discontinuum.org or post here.

The folks at the Wkgn Park District are concerned about liability. and possible ADA implications.

From what "my" lawyer tells me, park districts have no liability unless one of their employees willfully injures another during the course of their work and they do not have to be ADA compliant.

Sorry, Jim, I would not have turn our casual round at Crystal Lake into an open event if I had known you had a work day planned.  For some reason I thought the work day was last Saturday.

Why not pick up garbage during sunday league?  Issue bags to every team and have a prize for the team with the most trash.

We will probably not be building a bridge Saturday, but there will be plenty of work.

I have to work at 12 this Saturday, but I'll try to show up around 10 and work for at least an hour.

I just set 10am as a time when lazy disc golfers like us finally roll out of bed.
I can be there as early as 6am.
Wanna make it 8-ish?

Ya know, the more I play disc golf, the more I feel like Dad.  He gets up at the crack of dawn every day to play ball golf.  I figure I'll be there in another year or two with disc golf.

How about 9ish?

I couldn't make it there earlier than nine, due to spousal restrictions.

I'll plan on getting there between 8 and 9.
Whatever time y'all can make it is jiggy with me.

I brought my pin over to the parents place a few times.  Dad wasn't to interested though.  He's an old school golfer and doesn't really think this is a good sport for him.  He's been extremely supportive of my efforts though.  We talk about mindsets during tourneys and different approaches to different situations.  It's nice because I hate ball golf, but we still have something to talk about.

My 77-year-old father still asks me when I'm "gonna give up that crazy disco-golf".
Then he laughs and laughs.
He likes it more when I take the kids out with me......
