Went to the park today and there was two guys in a golf cart removing the wood markers and marking with paint. From what I saw in a limited amount of time was that holes 13-18 will be exactly as shown on the map. I drive to Antioch 2-3 times per week for work and I will keep posting what I see.

this is good news. hopefully it is in the ground by the end of this month. What are they doing for tee pads? are they just marking them with paint or flags?

They are going to be concrete but I dont know if they are going to put the baskets in before the tee's or what.

Hopefully the baskets go in last, so the men can get the work complete without the disc golfers interfering.

Yeah, may want to mention it to them. When they finally put in concrete tees at Willow Stream, 3 of them instantly had a penis carved into them along with other obscenities. One was so bad that they had to take it out and re-do it.

I was supposed to meet the designer tomorrow afternoon for a last minute walk thru. He called this afternoon saying the baskets are in. I guess where they are is where they'll be. I'm not sure of the final design.

He also said the funding for tee pads is a problem so there will not be concrete tees.

Just add another chapter to Lake County Disc Golf baby! Someone who has no clue about disc golf designing a course and no cement tee pads. Welcome to the mecca Antioch   :walk:

I'm not sure if the park is open yet. On Saturday they still had the entrance blocked off and a big sign that said park closed.

Course is still closed. If you risk playing you run a good chance of seeing a police officer. I've been stopped both times this week.

All 18 baskets are in the ground. Attached is a map of the current layout. The tee pads are not well marked right now and will be dirt for the time being. Funding is an issue. Tee signs will be installed and some finishing touches are still needed.

There may be some tweaks in the design. Dave Brown & I are working on it. We'll see what happens. I'm hoping so.

Right now the course is long and righty friendly. I threw a mid range disc 1 time. Hole #12.  Shot a -3.

It should be open soon. I have a feeling if the weather holds out the park will be open next week.

The park district received a 400,000 dollar grant and they can't find money for concrete tees? Jason

From my understanding the contractor's bid was super low. Something like 2K for 18 tees. I guess the project is over budget so this is an area that will be cut out. This course will fit right in with the other quality courses in Lake County.
