Quotecouldn't until you fixed it. THANKS!
Now I can't find the thread, so please pardon my thread combinations.
You're pardoned, but you could just make a new thread in the Website Issues topic like we have been doing in the past. After all, that's why it is there.

As far as Barry's reg. and updating the site is concerned, we're not keeping track of that stuff on the club site... Just a running total of who is in what division.
Don't forget your towel!

QuoteAre you reserving spots for folks who say they are coming but didn't get in on Pay Pal, like at the Illinois Open?
I'm almost positive that this did not happen at the Illinois Open.  We only held spots for people that pre-registered at the IO, and we will be doing the same in this case.  If you didn't get a chance to pre-register, you can come to Bevier and register at the course.  Registration for the event begins at 7:30 in the morning.  I would suggest getting there early, as we are planning for a full field.  Good Luck, and Happy Discing.

QuoteIf you are planning on attending the BLAST, please either pre-register or email myself, Myk, or Mirth.

Please help out the TDs and confirm your registration today!  THANKS!
Jim, Paul's insulation project just got postponed at the last minute, so he will be attending the Blast.  We should be there about 7ish.
Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

QuoteWe will also be vending for Sun King. Many of the discs for sale are at good prices, some very good.  We'll also be selling some Innova DX plastic (Aviar X-outs, some Leopards, some Rocs)  for $5 each.

Please please please buy me TWO DX firebirds.  One at 170(ish) and one at max weight.  Also, Kyle would like a DX eagle at about 168, no heavier than 170.  Colors for any of the DX do not matter, though I would prefer bright colors, orange, day-glo yellow, whatever.  Jim or whoever, I will pay you back right away.

Jim, I also found one of your Talons at hole #9 tonight.  I will try to get down there to get it back to you, but it doesn't look good.  Unfortunately, I will not be able to play the Blast.

Thanks guys!  If someone could do this for me, I would really, really appreciate it!

jim

Steve, I believe we have one or two Firebirds. We had none until Kurt from Tourist donated a few. I'll rummage through the boxes and grab what I can.  THANKS!

Thanks to all who played - and congrats to all who won!  I hope you enjoyed the tournament and Ace Race! I appreciate that many players drove from pretty far away to make this event and that you found the tourney worth the trip. Thanks to the Juniors and all who support them. The kids are the future of this sport - let's keep teaching them the right things!

THANKS to Myk Deardorf and Al Short for their great first-time assistant TD roles!  Their dedication, hard work, and quick thinking were invaluable to the event. Plus, they're just plain FUN!  THANKS also to John Bates for being a great photographer!  He donated his time, film, and developing for the event once again!  We may put together another (bigger, better) CD of the event.  We'll see what we have to work with after film is developed.

THANKS to all the people who came out to Bevier these past several months and have helped to make our course so much better!  All the volunteer sweat and money has truly changed to course for the better!  I've had more fun working at Bevier this year than I have had playing.  It means so much when people give back to the sport.  DISContinuum members and friends continue to impress and have make me proud to be a part of our group!

There were some mistakes made at the event. EVERY event has some. I regret that some double-checking was overlooked and that some people were slighted. In fact, I am pretty concerned about it and will look to rectify this one situation in mind. as TD, I assume full responsibility for this one grouping mistake.  However, there were two other small situations which were handled quickly, properly, and smoothly by the staff. These could have been daunting issues, but Myk and Mirth were on top of things and overcame potential ickiness.

The Ace Race was a lot of FUN!  But after all the verbal and emailed complaints, I now know much more about running an Ace Race, or even two events in one day.  We received many good suggestions and appreciate the input.

Scores will be checked and sent to the webmasters for posting later today. I hope. THANKS AGAIN everyone!

I had a ton of fun at the Blast & Ace Race. What great weather for disc golf. It doesn't get much better than it was yestarday. Thanks Jim, Myk, & Mirth for all the work you did to make this event happen.

I hope players keep in mind that DISContinuum is going thru a transition from a very small club & events to some medium to large club & events. It is trial & error. DISContinuum tries to offer a variety of events that are not the norm in other areas. I hope you continue to come back & support our events. We would like your opinions of what you liked & disliked. This will help us grow.

Thanks again guys!!!

I thought the tournament ran very smoothly.  The correct distances on the scorecards and the bulletin were a very nice touch.  Having all the alternates flagged and painted was great.  There were a couple of learning curve items but this was their first sanctioned tournament, and cat piss happens sometimes!

Jim, before you submit your TD report, if you submit it as three rounds of 12 holes no one will get ratings off the event.  But Chuck Kennedy says that you can submit it as two rounds of 18, even though we played 3 of 12, and then we'll get ratings.  Chuck says that the PDGA is fine with this.

To do this, simply take the middle round, divide it by two, and add each half to the other round.

For example, if Duff Burger shot 37 / 36 / 35 for a 108
that would become                    55    /     53 for a 108.

If the middle number is odd, put the odd stroke on the higher end.

For example, if Duff Burger shot 38 / 37 / 35 for a 110
that would become                    57    /     53 for a 110.

Under the course information section of the report you will need to take the distance for holes 10-18, including letter holes A2-C2, divide that by two, and add half to 1-9 and half to 19-27.

It will be a little extra work, but the PDGA members who played the tournament because it was sanctioned will appreciate it.

Excellent suggestion Bruce! I agree that the PDGA members who played the event would like to have it included in their ratings.
Don't forget your towel!

jim

Yep. Thanks. i thought that method would be unacceptable, but since chuck suggested it on the messboard, i'm jiggy with it.

Bruce Brakel

I checked the ratings data on the players.  We have enough ratings generators [eleven by my count] to get ratings if the scores go in as two 18s.  More to come.

I think it's pretty amusing logic that the PDGA will sanction 12-hole rounds but not rate them, and then be fine with the concept of constructing scores off of them.

CEValkyrie

Awesome!

I definitely would like to get a rating off of this tournament. If this one goes thru, i'm only 2 rounds away from becoming a ratings generator.

There is a problem which may affect ratings and overal scores for the Ams and Recs.
I was just given some very grave news by a player who was in the Am division, and I have since asked for a ruling/determination on this issue from Dave Nesbit, the PDGA Competition Director.

damonshort

If we all played the same course on the same round, what difference should it make?? Can't get to the Officers' area so I really have no idea what you're referring to....
thanks,
Damon
