Yea I too thought the Dark Knight was a great movie. The first one had more substance to the story, but that is also because it had to set the stage for the entire character. I first saw it at IMAX and that was great. I bought it last week and have watched it a few times again already.

The Dark Knight is the one the city needs, not the one that it wants. I get it. That was the only part of the movie that I thought was tedious; that they thought they needed to hammer the theme at us like we were idiots. The movie overall though I give a thumbs up.

The managers in my department got together and bought everyone in the department $20 AMC gift cards to go catch a movie this past week as a "just get out of the office and relax" outing.  I decided to watch Bolt - mainly because it was one of the movies that started the earliest from the options, and the rest didn't sound very interesting.  If you're a CG fan, it's definitely more of a Netflix rental than a go to the theatre to see it.  I had some laugh out loud moments, but it's not something where I'll go out of my way to get to the theater (as opposed to Pixar movies).

The cool thing was that I was the only one in the theater for this particular showing, so it's nice to feel like you have your own giant projection screen to watch a private screening of a movie.  I guess no one else in my department wanted to watch Bolt :)

I have seen a number of good films that are well worth the rental price:

Hellboy II
Traitor  A great movie, one of the best of the year.
Into the Wild  A great story about a crazy guy.  It would be a good double feature with Grizzly Man.
Doubt. In theatres now, it is very good.  Phillip Seymour Hoffman is great.

A TV series of which I didn't watch one episode when it was on:

The Shield.  It is absolutely great.  Better than 90% of the stuff that plays in theatres. We are watching the DVDs, this is one show where I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen. The writing and acting are top notch.

I can't believe I never watched it when it was on,  this is absolutely mandatory viewing. Violent, exciting, and great storytelling.

I've seen half of Into the Wild & loved it. I know what the ending is but regardless want to finish it some time....

We got The Dark Knight from the Redbox last night. Agree with most everyone's opinions regarding the plot and performances.

I may have mentioned this when it was in the theatre, but Appaloosa deserves another mention.  This is a great movie, one of the top westerns in the last 40 years.  I think it is better than Unforegiven.  A great story with great acting.  It may be too slow for some people but I think it is great.Vigo Mortensen is great.

ah, the porno knockoff, I believe.....

LOL!!!!

I saw this movie and thought is was awful.  I really liked the premise but thought it was about the saddest piece of X#$* I have seen in a while. I think you are better off going with your Freudian slip.  It will be more entertaining. Please refrain from posting your  review.  In any case, getting this back to a G rating...if you want something about a fallen superhero you cannot beat (oh there I go again)  The Incredibles which has the added bonus of starring Jim Thome in the title role.

Clint Eastwood was incredible in "Gran Torino"!  A must see movie. I left with a couple of wet eyes. One of those movies that keeps you interested from start to finish. Rumor has it that it was Eastwoods last movie. But what a finish to a great career.

Becky and I watched Tropic Thunder tonight. Pretty funny. The fake trailers might be better than the movie. If you've never seen Platoon you might not get half of the jokes.

Gran Torino is fantastic. Much more humor in it than I expected.  And a great yellow lab.

Pride and Glory. Colin Ferrel and Edward Norton. Corny as hell.
Flash of Genius with Greg Kinear.  Good movie based on a true story.

Frost/Nixon. I enjoyed this movie very much. Frank Langella was very good as Richard Nixon.

The Hangover.  Very funny, and a pretty good story too.
