Oh and towards the middle of the state, stay away from Urbana.  The course is boring and the kids from the housing around the place, run out and pick up your frisbees.  You are better off driving the 1 1/2 to Terre Haute, IN.

HA!!!!!!  thats awesome Brian.  I went to school down there and used to deal with those little bastards daily.  I would give them some old plastic so they wouldn't steal my discs.  I had to chase them down a number of times.  A buddy of mine drove his car out onto the course one day to chase them down       I would agree, don't play Urbana.

CrookedSuperSoft!!!!  your list cracks me up brother.  If willow stream park is the 2nd best course in IL, then I've been wasting alot of time by not playing it ever when I live 5 minutes away  


Diron, I respect your loyalty man.  Most people wouldn't be able to keep a straight face when they say Adler is better than Token Creek  I'm a homer too though I suppose with Sterling at #2.  At least Sterling is 18 holes though!!!!!

I've played or walked all of those courses. All of those courses in MI are better than any one course in Illinois. Sterling has to be my favorite IL course.

I would definitely disagree with that.  That kensington course was awesome, but Cass Benton left something to be desired.  I would take alot of IL courses over that one.  Not to mention you said midwest top courses, so there is no way that cass benton is ahead of token creek or hiestand for that matter, or dretzka.  Isn't iowa midwest?  Those worlds courses were awesome.  Ewing is my favorite course that I have ever played.

Dretzka has multiple pin positions, which can range from pretty easy to really brutal. There are 3 or 4 tunnel shots through some woods where you really need to keep an eye on where your disc is going.

It's a great course and if you're in the area you should definitely play it. It's a fairly long drive from downtown Milwaukee though, if that's where you're going.

Thanks.  I found a written description hole for hole.  It looks like the course can play to all levels depending on the tees used.  If I get to play I will try the longs while my friends tee from the shorts.  I still do not know where I am in Milwaukee.  The people I am visiting live north of the city.  This may be academic as I am not sure I will be able to get away or be willing to pay the price needed to get away.

Token Creek is a great course. I don't think I've played Hiestand yet. Dretzka is a very good course. Ewing is very nice also. I don't think that Ewing is the best course in DesMoines. Of the courses that I saw I'd give the winner to Walnut Ridge. I think Cass Benton is better than any of those. The elevation changes at Cass are fantastic. I also like the mix of tight woods and open areas. Probably the difference in our skill sets makes a difference in which we like better. I like the tight tough shots that Cass presents in the woods.

I was mostly just making a point with my post though. You can't have a top ten list of best courses in the midwest without a few Michigan courses on it.

9) Bevier (I can't leave out the Bev!)
And an honerable mention to the 18 hole Adler course. Although it doesn't exist anymore it was in the top in Illinois in its time.

Granted Adler isn't a very long course (token creek) but it's extremely techincal. Also, I do consider Adler an 18 hole course, even though it doesn't have 18 pins, just because I'm so used to playing the alternates.

I understand that you think of it like that. I've probably played about 30 different alts at Buffalo Grove. Does that mean that I should think of it as a 30 hole disc golf course. I don't think so. Adler used to be an 18 hole disc golf course. It started as a nine hole disc golf course. It is a nine hole course currently.

i play urbana about 2-3 days a week at least (which blows by the way) and we have several sets of tees set up there.  short tees marked with signs, middle tees and pro tees-  I play all of these on a regular basis, almost always with a round of shorts folowed by the mids.  A few weeks ago we marked off two sets of tees to play the course backwards from different tee placements.  A 9 hole course is a 9 hole course regardless of the amount of tees, but we will be playing a 45-hole league this weekend....

from what ive played, I like mokena or west park the best.  I definitely am making a point to play sterling, parkside, adler, and whichever course is off of briggs st. in joliet, when i come home for thanksgiving.

Dude, the back nine at Adler are nothing to brag about.  The cements are the only holes worth playing.
