Chainmeister, I agree with you. This year has been one of the hardest years to be a Cubs fan. You know, at first when people were criticizing Dusty, I stood behind him saying that he wasn't all his fault. 2 best pitchers out, D-Lee out, Aramis ain't doing $hit, but the more and more I watch, the more and more I realize Dusty is just a cheerleader. I would rather have Ozzie as a coach, however, when he talks, I would like him to take the crap out of his mouth.

Maybe this picture is a little more appropriate:

I have been a cubs fan for my entire life(36yrs). There have been some pretty pathetic Cubs teams. IMHO this is by far the worst from the top to the bottom I can remember seeing. Players, coaches, management are all pathetic. Its always somebody elses fault with this team. They do nothing but whine, cry and make excuses. At this point I am almost embarrssed to call myself a Cubs fan. The Barrett thing with AJ was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. Then to try and rationlize it after wards was even dumber. Just shut up and play baseball. How hard can that be. Enough ranting. I'm done.

The Cubs may suck, but I still root (?) for them. Don't ask me why, but it's probably because I'm not south side trash.

that is well put :)  i like this new guy!

Hey, at least we didn't get sweeped by the Sox

Hey Cub fans.  You always wanted to...Michael Barret did...yes, you too can PUNCH AJ.  Come on, you saw the game on Saturday.  Didnt?  Ok, you read the account in the paper.  You may wanna punch him but you have to admit he is a clutch hitter, and a clutch hitter who is hitting .327 and is a team leader.   Take out your aggression and punch AJ using the link below...

atleast our fans don't beat up unsuspecting 60 year old umpires........

AJ is an ass and its never been a secret.  i don't want to punch him, but i'm sure alot of players enjoyed seeing that it happened.

I heard this on Mike and Mike this morning. A little mean, but still funny.

How about this - I should be attending the series in Milwaukee on the 7,8, and 9th of July - I bet the Cubs take two out of three there

I'll take that bet.  I already have a few hundred bucks riding on brewers-cubs this year.

Ok, August 1st.
Over or under on whether Dusty will still be the manager?

Mike S

I would take the over on that.  If the cubs are consistent at all, they will hang onto him until about 2050.

I really hope they keep Dusty.  Every time Hendry does what the whiney fans want the player goes off and is great (eg. Corey Patterson).  Dusty would go off and be great whever he goes (who would have expected 2003?)  The bottom line is that we are terrible fans.  Sure they are paid to perform, but they are also human.  Booing them is not going to make a player want to win more.  Encouraging them when they go through a tough stretch is a true fan.  If you're disgruntled, move to the south side for some instant satisfaction.  I also wish the media would stop asking Dusty day after day what day he thinks he is going to be fired.  How about more constructive questions instead of digging for dirt?  They keep digging in the same place expecting to find something different.  It's bad enough that the team had a tough loss, but then to be berated by the media with dumb questions makes it worse.

I love the pre-game show with Ron Santo interviewing Dusty.  Those are the great examples of questions to ask.  He also SUPPORTS the team.

I'll take the under.

And other players going on to be great doesn't mean they would be great had they stayed with the Cubs.  Patterson would have sucked for 25 years if he played here for 25 years.  He had no confidence and needed a change.............HOWEVER, I still believe he is the same player, NOT a great player.   I will be taking 1 dollar from Brett when Patterson hits less than .250 in the 2nd half of the season.  He had 2 good 1st halfs with the Cubs.................

mirth

there is a saying that good players come to the north side & get cubbed.... and play bad while with the team.
Don't forget your towel!
