It is fun to get you Cubs fans all wryled up, though.  >:D

That's definitely the definition of a White Sox fan!  haha... But at least for the Cubbies I like this current 3-game winning streak :)  They are defeating the Marlins, which they are supposed to do, and winning the first 2 does the important thing... locks up the series win.

they're doing it well too - that rally in mondays game was the best i have seen all year by any team and yesterday walker had some great plays at first, streching across the bag just like lee.  our pitcher was doing his job and dempster, formally known as 'dumpster' just completed his 26th consecutive save, which i think is an all time cubs record.  hats off to em', lets hope they can keep it up unitl they get wood, prior, and lee back

Is it too early to start hoping for a crosstown world series???  That would be sooooo much fun.
That kid is back on the escalator!!!

The Cubs are holding on pretty well given injuries etc.  But, the above comment?  Now you know why White Sox fans snicker every time the Cubs fans get all excited about a warning track fly ball.  Down boy. ;D

25-2 for Milwaukee over the Saturday and Sunday games.  Can't complain.  My seats for the Sunday game were amazing...  Front row, right above the Brewers bullpen.  I guess I had a good time this weekend.  Dont really remember- Wrigley field is pretty much a huge bar that happens to have baseball in the middle.

Baker won't be fired, no need to get rid of the guys, and the Cubs will be fine.  All that firing Dusty would do would make a lot of the "fans" happy (I say "fans" because I don't appreciate someone that is supposed to be cheering and rooting for a team to be bashing the team left and right) and make the players upset.  If you were Jim Hendry, would you want to do something to make people not on the team shut up or cause the team to become really upset and not want to play at all?

Now with Wood back hopefully the Cubs can keep getting quality starts at the beginning and not have to hope that Glendon Rusch will somehow become a lights-out pitcher.  Prior is starting a rookie league game, and hopefully he'll be back by the end of May.  The Cubs won't even have room for Wade Miller with the way that Sean Marshall is going.  6-man rotation? haha.  I don't know what they are going to do about that.

Wonder who is going to go down to make room for Kerry Wood.  Right now my guess would be Ryan Theriot.

Anyone heard updates about Angel Pagan?  Man, that guy must have really hurt that hamstring.

down to your last out of the game, tying run on base.... and you lay down a FEAKING BUNT BACK TO THE PITCHER????

WHAT

THE

FARK?!

if there was one out I think it would have been a good idea.  Neifi was quoted as saying that he was trying to surprise the Nationals because Zimmerman was so far back at 3rd.  All he had to do was get it closer to the 3rd base line and further from the pitcher and it would have been good.  He would have been safe and the Cubs would have scored.... too high risk if you ask me, but that's what he did.

When stuff hasn't always been going the team's way as of late, doing something like a stunt isn't exactly the best thing to do!

oh well...

It's official. I'm joining the in-laws and picking up a Pujols jersey today. I'm even going to get a matching Cardinals sticker to match the one my wife has on her car.

Prior with shoulder problem. D Lee hurting his shoulder at the WBC. I can't take another year of this.

Dan will be on here in a minute to fire away at Dusty.

Dusty is taking the brunt of all this but I didn't expect anything less from the Cubs this year. He has no talent to work with. They continue to bank on Wood & Prior. Z is just a head case and is not a #1 guy. Maddux is dropping drastically down to earth and will be an under .500 pitcher. We got some decent starts out of other guys but you can't count on them.  Don't get me wrong, I don't want Dusty to stay. They need to clean house & get rid of everyone involved with this organization. The start of the season was very misleading. It was over the minute Lee went down.  It's back to earth now. We'll be battling for the bottom of the divison. Our outfield is one of the worst in the majors. Nice siging of Jones & getting rid of Burnitz. Matt Murton? Come on, how could you count on this guy going into the season? I still think Juan Pierre can be a good lead off man on a decent team but when surrounded by shit, you start to become shit. Aram is sucking it up as the go to guy without Lee in the lineup. Cedeno? How about Furcal?  Had we signed him Lee would still be playing right now. What a joke!

How do you blow a 2 run lead in the 9th? Send in Dempster!
Don't forget your towel!

stpitner

that one hurt.  It really did.  The last thing the Cubs needed is for Dempster to start blowing saves now.  It's starting to turn into the hateful confines of Wrigley Field...

tough schedule - but only two series are with teams that are outside of our division so there is alot of oppurtunity to make up some lost ground.
