Jojo, Are you going to call to see if the course will be open for the next Safari. On the front page it says Safari #4. It should be #5. So who is leading each division?

Well, this is an odd situation.

Does anyone know if the baskets are going to be in? If the baskets are in, who is going play Vallarta Ast DGC (Token Creek)?

Damon, Jim, Jay, & Shawn will be @ Standing Rocks. Is there anyone willing to run the Safari that day since Jay will not be there? I will not be able to attend because I have a baseball game.

Jim & I discussed last night about changing dates. I not big on that but how about changing to Adler instead of Vallarta Ast DGC (Token Creek)? We know the baskets are in the ground & the travel time will be cut down. Would be 2 rounds from the cement tees.

Any comments, questions, concerns?

Who wants to car pool to Vollrath Park in Sheboygan, WI?

Sheboygan is 113 miles from my house. I'd be willing to drive & would be able to fit 3 comfortably. We could squeeze someone else in but the back seat would be crowded. I have a non smoking vehicle.

I could pick up @ the McDonald's off Grand(132) & make a stop off of I94 by Kenosha. All I ask it that my entry & ace pool be paid for :)

Looks like a 2 hour ride from my house. I'd be willing pick up @ 8:30AM on Grand & 9:00AM in Kenosaha to get there a little eary to check the park out.

Let me know if you are interested.

Damon,

     I did a little research & tried to find the information as well. I don't recall an official rules document.

Jay,

     Do you think you could put one together?

Here is what I was able to piece together.

Format [-(Delete  the handicap scoring) /Schedule/Dates/Locations/Overall Prizes/Results (I think we need to add what tees we will be playing from if a course has Am & Pro tees)

Link to the Safari Page-] http://discontinuum.org/Events/safari2003/

Event Prizes

1 CTP Disc

1 Disc to Upper Pool Winner

1 Disc to Lower Pool Winner

Overall Prizes are posted on the link above.

Optional Ace Pool run by Jon. Where is the ACE Pool @ Jon? (Posted by Jon) I'll organize a side series ace pool if people are interested. If it hits, the hitter gets all, if not rolls over to the next leg. If there is anything left after the series we do a ctp with each person who paid in the ace pool on any of the legs getting one throw and then people who have attended multiple legs get one throw plus one throw for each 4 events they attended for a max of 4 throws. 1 + (12/4) = 4

(Posted by Jim)Any aces during any of the 12 events will receive one disc each (max value $15). If anyone wants to do a side/casual Ace Pool, that's fine.

Event Scoring For Upper & Lower Divisions

1st = 10 points

2nd = 9 points

3rd = 8 points

4th = 7 points

5th = 6 points

6th = 5 points

7th = 4 points

8th = 3 points

9th = 2 points

10th = 1 point

11th = 1 point

12th = 1 point

and so on

(Posted by Jim) Tie Breaker for an event & overall scores. At the end of any round of 18 and there is a tie, the two+ players tied will go back to Hole #1 and play full holes until the tie is broken.

If there is a tie at the end of the entire series, a 9-hole final playoff will be played from Bevier's 19-27 Holes one week after the December Safari date.

BTW-] Damn the Safari Thread is LONG!!!

Sounds good Jay!

Attached is a table I put together for the Safari. I've been out of the loop of the Safari. I'm getting back in it since i'll be able to attend the next 5 events. I wanted to get a good idea where everyone was @ in the standings.

The only problems I saw was Safari #3 with Bruce Brakel & Shawn Comstock tying & Safari #4 with Joshual Hurth & Kyle Scuglik tying. I gave each player max points for that position & put an asterik next to their score. Please check it over & make sure there are no mistakes.

Jon is the only person to attend all 6 events. He is in great position right now. 1 more event then he starts dropping scores.

Damon is dominating the lower pool. Would you like that Skillshot now? :)

I posted above about the info on the Safari. We really need a set of specific information & rules. It would nice to get those so we can reproduce them next year & hand them out at our events so people know how/what the Safari Series is.

Holy smokes! What they heck is going on?

Anyway,

Dr. Dye,

     I have room for another. Only Jay & I are in my car. I plan on picking Jay up @ the McDonald's on Grand/I94 @ 8:30AM. I could pick you up off of I94 in Kenosha. Let me know a good exit & place off of 94 Dr. Dye.

Later

Looks like Joliet Leagues are on Wednesdays. I don't think there should be a problem even if they do have leagues. It is a 24 hole course. Can't wait until Saturday!

I know there has been a debate over the September Safari. Over the first 7 Safari Events, there have been 73 players which averages to 10.4 per event. If you look at that raw #, that seems to be the norm for DISContinuum Events. Of course i'd like to see more people attend our events. Who wouldn't? There are several of the past Safari Events that if they were just scheduled an hour later, I would have been able to make it. I think time & scheduling will have to be taken into consideration when planning for next year. I also think we all put events on a priority scale. I have a chance to go to Springfield & play in a C-Tier in October. That is a decision I will have to make. That is one of the reasons we made it 7 of 12. I would love to accomodate everyone but it is not possible.
