So, was it closed?  My guess is that they may have closed the 8th hole, cause of the sled hill, but I suspect the rest of them are still playable.

BTW, the new one and revamped three are really pretty nice.  It was a shame to lose 2 and 3, but they did a respectable job of replacing them.  I still love  the course.

I had to wait until today to get to Warren.  I didn't see any signs saying closed so I played most of it.   I found 1-6, but had to leave before I found the other 3.   I enjoyed the holes through the trees.  Good thing I wore my boots, its pretty slushy since the snow melted.   Can't wait to see the whole course and leaves on the trees.   <_<

Went to Warren the other day the course is in pretty bad shape due to all the past rain. It's pretty muddy all over the grass, and Hole 7 is completely under water. The basket is in the water. If you plan on going out to Warren I would recommend you go somewhere else and give it about a week or so with no rain.

It appears that the township center is getting ready to brutalize the course.  It looks like they are adding two five foot long tees in the vicinity of hole 7.  My guess is that there plan is to shorten hole seven, dump hole 8 and make a super short hole just north of seven, and not a clue with what they are going to do with hole 9.  Kind of makes me sick that they continually tweak the course to make it worse instead of better.

I am guessing that of all the facilities over there that don't have sanctioned activities, that the disc golf course has the most activity. But it receives less attention and is less of a priority than all the other resources over there.  This morning there were at least 10 people out on the course and all the other features were empty. Very frustrating.

I thought those things were too small to be tees  :-\

Ugh, not again warren, i'm going to go see what's going on next time i am there

Then again though, on the optomistic side, maybe they're adding more alts, but some of those tee ditches were in odd spots to be tees for current baskets, like there is 1 to the left of 9s basket facing the road that goes through the park,  now im just confused.

I do not think that the new cement slabs have anything to do with the golf course.  Each slab has an I-bolt embedded in it and an 8 inch diameter hole.  Beats me what they are for though.  Maybe they're mounting grills or something.  Or better yet, maybe they are going to set up beer stands for the golfers. ;D

Is that a fact or a guess?  Why there?

Steven is right. It's a fact. I thought they might have something to do with the disc golf course at first, but they are too small for one. Second they have got holes and stuff drilled into them where they can chain garbage cans into.

As to why they're in that sport I have no idea. Obviously the disc golf course wasn't of any concern.

I agree.  BTW, I played yesterday after work and they are doing more work on the new stairs on number 8.  They did some sodding  (not sodomizing) and put up a snow fence along the stairs, apparently to keep people off of the new sod.  I hope folks continue to use the new stairs so that they don't perceive a need for a permanent fence along both sides of the stairs, which was in the initial plans.  I find myself climbing a lot of fences to retrieve OOB discs, and I am not getting any younger :(

Anyway, I still love the course, it's my fave :)

Alas, if only my disc didn't have a mind of it's own. :crybaby2:

Nothin like sledding down hole #8's hill on your disc golf bag. It worked great. I wouldn't wanna do it to much though because who knows what damage it might do to the bag.

I love you man, don't forsake Warren  just cause it's winter.  I'm a wus though, got outa town right after Christmas and headed south west.  Played Wildcat in Abilene, TX and Santa Cruz River Park in Tucson, AZ.  Will play Emerald Park in  Mesa, AZ tomorrow.  All in shirt sleeves.

How about some course reviews?

CEValkyrie

I have a meeting with Warren Tonwship about possible improvements. I have a list of things I want to do there. Before I go in does anyone have any creative suggestions they'd like to see there.

It would be nice if all tee pads were the same size. (hole 9 could be fixed)

Maybe they can patch up the tees where people wrote names and other stuff.

On my list I have extending hole 1 & 9's tees. Cleaning up the tees is a good idea. I'll add that.
